The highly anticipated patch for NBA 2K9 will arrive for the PS3 on December 3rd. Xbox 360 owners will have to wait, but it shouldn't be far behind.

You can find the bug fix list, right here.

"I have been informed by Sony that the NBA 2K9 patch has cleared and is expected to be available within the next 48 hours. My next post will chronicle the changes expected in the patch. Obviously the 360 patch was submitted to Microsoft at the same time and it's now a matter of their timing on when they release the patch on XBL. I imagine it will be a matter of days and when I know exact timing, I will inform you. As you can see, the community made a major impact on decisions made in this patch so for all our titles, remember to post your thoughts and wanted changes and I will collect them with the moderators. You can make a huge impact on our games. Thanks..."

They don't need to keep us informed about anything. All 2K learned is that there's a lot of whiny users here and on 2KSports forums that do nothing but biatch, pre and post patch.

What they really should do next year though is wait till the end of October to release the game, as well as involving the resources they have here at operation sports to help them QA their product. I do believe that many here would help them beta test this game, even if it doesn't mean getting the final game for free.

It sounds like they really tried to fix as many issues as possible in the time frame allowed. I give you high props for this!

I just hope they learn next year to keep the community just a "little" more informed about the status of any future patches they release.

What made it worse was that I missed alot more perimiter shots, three's, and easy inside buckets that the computer just seemed to sink. I wouldn't mind my shooting percentage if the cpu's matched it, but that just was not the case. I turned it off in the 4th and the cpu was still shooting 68%.
My first game on pro cpu shot 68%.

btw: Lost 100:101

I admit that perimeter defenders will stand closer to the edge of the paint if defensive pressure is set to 'Sag Off,' even though doing this shouldn't be necessary. But even if they're sagging off their man, they still don't react as quick as they should to the drive. All perimeter defenders off the ball should be converging toward their section of the paint as soon as the ballhandler puts the ball on the floor and dashes to the hoop unless they're instructed to stay at home and face-guard their man.

I think what is wrong with NBA 2K9 as far as its help defense system is that the Defensive Pressure setting affects how defender plays his man away from the ball, which it shouldn't. Defensive Pressure should matter only on the ball, not away from it. The Help Defense slider setting should take absolute priority for every defender whenever they're away from the ball.

What would solve this is to have a Help Defense setting for every individual opposing player on a team. Include the standard 'Auto' or 'Help' option for the defender guarding that opposing player to follow basic help defense principles away from the ball. And have a second option like 'Face-Guard' or 'Stay' for certain opponents so to stay at home on him at all times, which would be useful to guarding big-time 3-pt threats. NBA 2K9 unfortunately has all defenders positioned away from the ball on face-guard mode all the time.

Yep... still jerkey, even when you are bringing it upcourt after inbounding actually. I'll try switching it down to 720p instead and trying.

cameo what do you mean by unbiased ? You appear to be saying that those who are not praising the game post patch are somehow biased. Was that what you meant ?

I think I've just grown tired of the things possible in this game, which is sad because the game is presented so brilliantly, has incredible animations and the atmosphere is unmatched IMO. It's just the sliding, the interior passing that is possible, ball clipping, and the cheap AI has driven me away. Again only played 1 game, so if this was a fluke I'll come back and admit I was wrong, but as of now this game is just not for me this year. I might check out some of the sliders post patch, but they can only fix so much.
Very well said Sage! I have not played the game post patch yet, but this is exactly how I feel about the game too. The jacked-up player tendencies (especially for scoring PG's like Tony Parker) have also been a huge issue for me. Again, I will play the game post-patch and form my own opinion, but if what you are saying is true, then I will be without both Basketball and Football games for another year...

Does the patch go into affect with Association modes that already started? I dont feel like starting over at all. Also does this mean that we can finally use default sliders and it will be A OK? Becuase these fixes may change how the slider your using now work.

Yeah, right before the patch. I'm thinking of running to the store and grabbing an Xbox arcade real quick.

I wonder if Player Rated 66 Post Offense is still able to back down player Rated 92 Post Defense.
