The demo is great, but like all other previous NBA 2k games, I still feel like I am playing basketball on ice. When I am in lock on D, your guy will still slide and warp around. This could be due to game speed, though. So, correct me if I am wrong there from those who have the full game. I also noticed Rondo burn by me with Fisher and I said to myself, wow, that was nice!! Only for Rondo to hit a brick wall in Gasol and then boom. Rondo is running right into his chest while his feet are still moving like he was on a treadmill. This is the only problem I've ever disliked about the 2k series. Again, it could be due to the game speed this year. I will have to wait and check it out.

To get rid of this feeling it will take a complete overhaul of the animation system.

You have to take the good with the bad. Frankly, I can overlook things like this when the rest of the game is as high a quality as this one is.

No one is saying it is perfect. But for sure, arguably the best out there.

Man oh man, I am reading a lot of crap on hear about this game. So hear it is. There are only two major BBall games that are coming out. NBA Live and NBA 2K9. Pick one! I know last year NBA 2k8 came out and it lasted till 2k9 is upon us. People stop playing Live after 4 months if they even got that far. Now don't get me wrong live mad some improvements but they are just improvements that should have been made for last year’s game. 85% of the things that are in NBA Live or in NBA 2k8 now! I look for the little things in a game. Player mannerisms sound and control. It’s not always about graphics. It’s about game Play. Look at the first Live that game out on the nextgen, **** look good but played like crap. This year NBA 2K9 has brought that to us.

Man, I'm not liking the Isomotion.

Everything else is preety nice.
I like how Kobe just automatically sets up in the post calling for a look. And Bynum sets picks without you asking.

360 also has AA while the PS3 does not.

No of course,it's just that I feel the anti aliasing is REALLY helping the game in the "right way". i think 2k might have taken it into account

The problem with 2k is they don't enable 4X AA. They only use the FREE 2X AA the 360 offers which still leads to jaggies which the 360 DEMO Version has also, but as bad as the PS3 version

My god Rondo did the Hakem show you the ball fake shot that he did on David Robinson.

# 513 barrist @ 10/03/08 10:47 AM
someone may have already noted but for ps3 users:

if you disable 720p and force it to use 1080i, it softens the jaggies a bit, although it may be too soft now. i sthink i'll stick with 720p, im getting used to it.

Haha what do i think?

Aww man it's actually almost perfect for a animation based game. It feels like it's finally been optimised and polished for it's style of engine.

It's like this 2k7 wowed us.
2k8 couldn't excite us anymore than 2k7 did
2k9 just removes any doubt if it was going to be better than 2k8

The jaggies compared to last years game are much better though. they've been able to handle them even with the sharper more realistic graphics now

Have to disagree w/your comment regarding the graphics. I have a Panny 50" 1080P plasma HDTV and even @ 1080P the demo displays a lot of pixilation. Not terrible but quite noticeable. However, highly enjoyable game play experience (IMO) which seals the deal for me this year. Thanks.

I'm sure if they could get the game running at a smooth rate with 4X you would have seen it by now.

It's not as easy as "flicking" a switch. It takes work.

lol...he probably has it on notepad just waiting for it to be pasted

whats with all the complaints about this as a minor leap graphically from 2k8...jeez pop in 2k8 and you will see that the players look like plastic and the lighting is way off...this years game is a giant leap graphically though they still need to work on the transition animation and foot planting

The other game isn't bad; It's just rough and obviously in its rebuilding phase.

I don't see why we have to be all about one or the other. Live has some good things that 2k really needs to work on... and that has nothing to do with this thread.
