I didn't say it was big, just that it was made up in compartments. The guys releasing the info for NHL aren't the same guys who do the marketing work for 2k, as confirmed by one of the contacts over on the 2ksports boards.

And again, I'm not surprised. Go back and look over my posts. I'm just pointing out that there is a threshold in terms of releasing info, and IMO, one month crosses that threshold. Stop putting words in my mouth.

good post. I liked the Live demo though as it is a HUGE upgrade over 08 imo. Imo 2k doesn't have the tarnished game resume of the other franchise which needs to repair their image. They need to be forthcoming with info and footage because they created a lot of pissed off fans with their past efforts. I understand wanting to see more footage though from 2k. I just don't see the point of complaining about a teaser being a teaser.

Do you even know how old or new the build of the Live demo actually is? I'm not sure why you or anyone else is surprise by getting the silent treatment from 2K when it happens every year. 2K doesn't need to move according to Live, or anything else. Live demo was released early by mistake and rather people realize this or not, 2K has a plan, and you will get the vids and info you're craving for soon enough.

Lol, most people have already decided which basketball game they'll get. Speaking for myself and myself only, I've played the Live demo, and without getting too far off track, let's just say I'm buying NBA 2K9, for numerous amounts of reasons, but the main reason is the NBA 2K series has built a repoire for being solid year in and year out. Now why would I all of a sudden think they would do otherwise and put out a bad game?

Even with all the bickering and complaining that's been done in this forum, there's a chance that almost every last one of em will end up buying the game, especially if their fans of the series.

And umm, you are complaining about the lack of info. I do admit that this trailer is a waste, but I don't agree that their being unfair to their fans when they do this on a yearly basis.

Well then you should go over to the 2kboards and let their administrator know about it(not sure if Blue Lightning was the guy taking the community questions or not). He confirmed what I suspected for some time--that they wait until NHL is out before getting behind NBA--and when he was talking about the teaser going up, he said that different people were in charge of putting out the info for each game.

The 2k Sports forum has known to be unreliable for quite some time now about their own games.

Ironic, but very true.

Take everything you see there with a grain of salt. Scratch that, a freaking shaker full.

That's all I'm saying. There is a time for teasers, but the preorder window is not it. I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what the effect of a teaser is supposed to be at this point.

And specifically, what is my complaint about the lack of info? I pointed out the stark contrast between them and EA, and then them and the rest of the game industry. That's all.

I may sound like an indecisive idiot, but I find myself relating to both sides of the spectrum. On one hand, I know that not much is coming before the release of NHL 2k9, but on the other hand, I was expecting some kind of information since they did announce that they would be coming forth with some, then delayed it (along with the teaser, if I'm not mistaking). I don't think this affects most of us, since we ARE buying the game for sure unless something catastrophic happens (and even then). But for all the yearly whining and criticizing of how NBA 2k is marketed, I still think that some of it is merited, no matter the size of the company.

Is it an overreaction? We all know the answer to that. Is to be expected every year that people go nuts? Yes, and it's funny as hell. But I still understand certain part of the gamers feeling left out, and I'm not talking about the ones who go beserk no matter what. It is a selfish stance, but then again, that's the nature of most dedicated gamers I guess.

Its not. When I used to go to the 2k game previews, I saw the same 2 people for 3 straight years no matter what the game was. One internal person and 1 PR rep. 2k Sports (not Take Two) has a ridiculously small internal marketing group and they use an small outside pr firm.

Actually it's only 2 weeks away for me. I'm getting the game 2 weeks early.
