Why do people keep using this as a crutch as if the Live demo was release early by design?

Again... I'll wait until after NHL 2k9 is released...

after that, then you can all complain more if we still don't have solid 2k9 information some 3 days after NHL 2k9 is out...

that said... the teaser didn't suck... showed the amazing graphical powers of 2k9... just look at Josh Smith's face... my boy getting some love.

Forget about when the demo was released, look at when the demo was ready. It was ready and submitted a month before the game ships. Every game company starts prepping their customers and potential customers a month before release, but not 2k. They haven't discussed their new features, shown gameplay or interacted with the press at all, and we're getting inside of a month before the game comes out.

2k9 isn't the only game coming out. People should be given ample time to start deciding on what they want to buy, and when. Waiting for less than a month is unique to 2k, and it really isn't fair to the fans.

I'm not even complaining about the trailer or lack of info, or begging for more info. It'll come out when it comes out, but they should know that they are being unfair to their fans.

Sure we'd all like more info... Hell this is the only time of year I'm really in the forums, basically waiting for new info before release, and for a few tips extra after release, BUT seriously guys, WE are the choir! Whether the info comes or not, we are getting the game, and contrary to what you believe, the average gamer is only worried about the release date - friends of mine who play more than me and play better than me, care less about early info, they just reserve their copies and buy it when it comes out. That is the way it should work, VC has yet to fail us, and until they do, why worry? But no, I have this psychosis where I've just GOT TO KNOW, info, gimme, gimme, gimme... 2K knows that a bunch of early info does nothing to boost the sales when considering the average consumer - and even the choir for that matter - I played the Live demo, glad it was available, I'll erase it soon and I'm still not buying live. How about the rest of you? So tease away 2k...

All I really need to see is the Player Creator and I'm good anyway, because that is the only thing 2k8 screwed up beyond all reason...

Well I'm not really the one to complain but that was terrible. I was expecting a bit more but I guess I have to learn to not get my hopes up. A few more weeks til release. They mind as well not even show another 15-30 secs teaser. The game will be in everyone's hands soon enough.

It's not early info inside of a month of release. It's just standard. I can't think of anything coming out in thirty days that I can't find any information on.

So you'd prefer more marketing of an unfinished product over them still working on a game?

The size of the 2 teams is not comparable. EA has a marketing group capable of pulling all that off. Had you been playing a demo of 2k9 "a month in advance" you'd be saying it was too similar to 2k8.

Damn... 2k can't win. They spend more time working on the game than worrying about marketing the product... FOR YOU GUYS, THE HARDCORE FANS... and you guys are ready to get a lynch mob.

I feel for those guys. Remember all this when NBA 2kx is no more.

ANY information? We've got information. We just don't have what we want. Movies only give you the cast and a trailer before the release. You would only get a couple of singles if this was an album being released. What do we really expect, its a BASKETBALL game! There really isn't that much informing to be done besides showing us the game - that is what we all want, gameplay footage, and what looks better and works better, and they'll give it to us when they are good and ready.

The next teaser is going to be the best!

The one where they show LeBron tying his shoes in slow motion.

It will be great!!!

I never said they should put out the demo. But a month before the game is in stores, we're hardly talking about "marketing" an unfinished product. Now we're cutting into the timing of placing pre orders of all of the games released within that 3 week block.

And let's not confuse the guys releasing the info with the guys working on the game. 2k is not a person. It's several different departments. None of what I'm talking about is in regards to the developers, who are always excellent.

And that's something 2k has never done... aholbert mentions this all the time. Why is it still a surprise to you, or anyone else?

The "guys" working on marketing are dealing with NHL right now. And the company isn't as big as you think. Nowhere close.

Again, what does it matter if you're getting a game created, for you, the fan?
