Madden 09 Quick Patch #2 Update From EA

I'm back now and wanted to relay some news - we found and fixed the Franchise freezing issue that some have been seeing and decided to delay the patch a couple of days in order to get that in. Major thanks to this community ...a few folks here on OperationSports actually emailed me PS3 Franchise files which allowed us to track the issue down much more quickly. You guys rock - as always!

The patch is now at our internal quality control group, and then on to Sony and Microsoft by (we think) Friday.

We are still targeting about 2-3 weeks from now for the patch to drop, and of course I will keep you updated as things progress.

Anyway I have no idea about that kind of hardware stuff but Moegames it looks to me like you know your stuff!

As for this debate yeah 360 might have its problems but I can tell you one thing. I don't see any difference in the picture between 360 and PS3 so graphically speaking I'm pretty sure they're the same. I own a 360 and have played my friends ps3 plenty of times and I can't tell a bit of a difference.

So we will be seeing this patch sometime within the next week correct? It has been 2 weeks since Ian announced the patch so im assuming everything is on schedule for the patch to drop soon.

Ian,

Will the patch address the issues with some of the smart safety weapons not appearing nor working on and offline? Darren Sharper (Vikings), Kerry Rhodes (Jets) and Ed Reed (Ravens) smart safety weapon doesnt even appear during on and offline play. Let me know. Thanks.

Do you have your smart weapons turned on? Dumb question but I thought I would ask.

Fellas, is this new patch really supposed to fix the in-game freezing issues? I'm really skeptical if that's the case. The training freeze thing is different because they've been able to pinpoint exactly where the freeze occurs.

The in-game freezing is a different story though, because the freeze is apt to happen anytime and anywhere during a franchise game. I guess I'll believe it when I see it, but as for now I seriously expect the same problems to occur with me even after the new patch is downloaded.

I'll be in the middle of a fantastic game putting up great stats only to have it go for naught as the son of a beautiful recreational activity freezes up on me with like 3 minutes left in the 4th.

I still can't believe paid 65 bucks for this deeply flawed MaddenFootballer.

I don't think the Vikings suck, they just need another QB this year. They need more than 3 points every time Peterson gets them in the red zone. Poor guy, does all that work for nothing (except the money

)

I haven't played alot of Madden so far I'll admit, but I have not had a Franchise freeze yet, knock on simulated computer wood.

I haven't played Madden since day 1...and sadly it has never crossed my mind if I even want to pop it in.

It feels like Madden '09 hasn't even been released yet.

I'm anxious for The Show '09.

Adding to the talk about the 360 vs. PS3

I got madden at launch, then my 360 died....while it was in the shop getting repaired I grabbed Madden for the PS3.

I can say without a doubt that on my 46" Samsung DLP that the 360version looked better and the gameplay and animations seem to flow better. The colors are def. more vibrant and the graphics are just a little bit sharper when playing the 360 version. I can also say the same thing for MLB2k8 - it looked better on my 360....no doubt about it.

Needless to say that once I got the 360 back, I traded in my PS3 copy of Madden and am solely playing it on the 360.

Keep it on topic.. I hope we get this patch asap cause this is getting hella ******** having a $64-65 game just being a dust collector..
