Madden 09 Quick Patch #2 Update From EA

I'm back now and wanted to relay some news - we found and fixed the Franchise freezing issue that some have been seeing and decided to delay the patch a couple of days in order to get that in. Major thanks to this community ...a few folks here on OperationSports actually emailed me PS3 Franchise files which allowed us to track the issue down much more quickly. You guys rock - as always!

The patch is now at our internal quality control group, and then on to Sony and Microsoft by (we think) Friday.

We are still targeting about 2-3 weeks from now for the patch to drop, and of course I will keep you updated as things progress.

A) Won't fix progression

I'm sure it's the same as the 360, just pop in the game and it will prompt you to download the patch.

Oh ok I beleive I believe it downloaded that I remmebr now it asking me to download some 1.0 thing or something. I should have paid more attention. When is the other patch coming out that has the accelerated clock? I miss that I like to play 11 minute quarters with that one.

we need a new years eve style countdown ticker for patch#2 on the front page of this site.. or at least in the madden forum page.

the wait is killing me!!!

what about if my qb is a 75 and makes the pro bowl and wins the super bowl.. he should go up to a 90 at least.. I want it realistic but I thrive by getting guys with speed and a 72 overall and having them lead the league in tackles or ints.. thats how I do well under the cap.. so if they overdo it I won't be mad at all.. I am tired of seeing my guy win the defensive mvp and then don't improve.. if my guy wins that award he should be a 94 easily...

With all the issues with the poor cpu late game play calling logic, I got a surprise today.

The cpu onside kicked in a franchise game of mine. The cpu had scored to pull within 12, with just over two minutes to go. I had called for the onside kick formation...just for the heck of it. Not really expecting it to happen, but the cpu did!

I was under the impression that no matter what, the cpu never onside kicked. In other games I've played the cpu didn't. Has anyone else had the cpu onside kick?

Yes I do. Depending on the game situation, the CPU goes with the O-kick on a regular basis...

Good to hear.

I could have sworn that in a few other games I've played, that the cpu failed to onside kick when it clearly should have.

I just glad it did happen for me now...and for others.

Yeah, for reasons of realism its a good thing. Only it wins it too often for me

I guess at least 50% of the Onside kicks are won by the kicking CPU. Seems a bit too high for me.

For those of you who have NCAA 09, how different is the game now after the 2nd patch? Are the changes noticeable? I'm just curious because I cant wait for the 2nd Madden patch and wanna know what to expect.

to me, the changes in NCAA after the 2nd patch are very noticeable.
