Wow, graphically looks awesome. Lighting, player models, and presentation looked really good. And in fairness the fumble looked like it was caused by a legit hit.

The graphics generally look much better, with everything from the player models to the lighting being a significant step up from 08. The new camera looks good, it's nice to see replays back, and at first glance the playcalling screen looks nice. That all said, the gameplay looks fundamentally the same. There was quite a bit of passing, and at every point the tackles basically engaged the defenders at the line of scrimmage or just a yard back from it- the OL/DL interaction still looks wrong and there is no pocket to speak of as a result.

Those would be season totals. This video catches the start of the game, which is to say Moss' reception is his first one.

actually on the second play the pass to shockey the line backer came on a blitz the oline did slide over and clip him to give eli an extra second on the pass thats a good sign

Sideline player actions still aren't good. NYG players clapping after the fumble. Other than that it looks great.

I was thinking the same thing. On every pass play Eli set his feet before passing the ball.

I thought it was pretty cool. That camera is very similar to the one in Gears of War. (when you press the "A" button while running) Lol.

Those were totals for that game. After the fumble, notice the game skips to the 2nd qtr.

It seems as if they only wanted to face the sun to show off the visuals. The lighting was absolutely amazing. Look at how dark the sky was at kickoff (looked like a night game), then look at how bright the sky was from the fielders perspective. Can't wait for more footage.

no i think it's a glitch. if you look on top of the overlay it saids milestone 4 TD, unless scoring 4 td in a season is a milestone.

Phil posted this at EA Forums as well, so give feedback there as well if you have an account. He may directly reply.

I posted this:

A con I noticed;

At 1:07, the Giants line faced a 3-4 with the RB coming up the 3 hole. There was two TE on the play, therefore all the players had a defender man up. Pretty simple blocking right?

Well instead, the TE on the left went to the DE that was head up on the left guard, leaving the left (on the screen) outside lineback free to get the RB right when he gets the ball.

This is the type of stuff I'm talking about that killed Madden for me. The idoitic AI like that. YOU ALWAYS TAKE THE MAN UP!!! It's that simple. Why is my TE going off to block a defender that's man up on someone else? ESPECIALLY when the handoff is to his side of the field. Him doing a proper block would have change what was a loss of yards to a gain of yards.

Not impressed. I understand it happening to someone who has low AWR, but even still, it would be VERY RARE we should see that, because that's what get players cut from High School football for god sake.

Don't know what to say about the pass blocking yet so I'll shut up for that. I just hope the AI actually be in position for a proper pocket.

As for pros,

Presentation is better the last year easily. Would like to see the WHOLE starting lineup rather then weapons though.

Graphics look nice.

The collision animations seem smoother.

The Break-away camera is a nice touch, so is the user celebrations.

Overall, it's the con of stupid AI blocking wise I still see that I'm not impressed with.

That was pretty dumb A.I., but can't you give that TE a blocking assignment with the pre-snap controls? (which was absent in the vid)

As for the starting lineups, I think they will show the whole line ups if you wait for it to finish. I mean, if the playclock is running down, you would have to exit the lineup screen before getting penalized. Also, you know that both teams have more than 4 weapons on O and D. Mike Vrabel and Tedy Bruschi and some of the Giants O line would've been on the list if it only showed weapons.

It isn't a glitch. The video skipped to the 2nd qtr after the fumble.

I stand corrected.

EDIT: The 4 TD milestone tied his career high from this past season (Buffalo-Week 1)

Looks very immersive...I only wish there wasn't any music playing so I could hear how the crowd reacts to what's happening on the field...

Graphics and lighting look nice. Still not feeling the animations but the presentation is moving in the right direction. I'm more interested now.

There is no other way to know for sure. ea, to me, has lost game player equity, only a great playing game will get it back.

NE has field turf......that grass looked real (and yellow)

I like how they FINALLY have safeties in an up right position pre-snap, instead of being in that generic linebacker stance they have used for years.

Nice touch.....

# 38 Nza @ 05/02/08 07:48 AM
Not really seeing much new honestly. Lighting looks nice but the flow appears to be more or less the same as before, which IMO didn't capture the right 'feel'. The collisions and blocking still looks very unnatural.

Just once it would be nice to see an early Madden video where you couldn't see blatant issues appear with the blocking. Just once.

I thought the game looked great in that video. The visuals are very nice. The game play is kinda meh. Apparently, NFL Coordinators have put 15 step drops in the playbook. Can we get a video of someone playing and not dropping back a mile?

Is it going to be like last year when u get to the playoffs and superbowl, and its no excitment at all. These are the things that made 2k5 great and still going strong. I hope madden gets better, but until they get those little things, all play 2k5.
FG nets are in this year. Refs are not in this year.

I don't know about the rest.
