Harvin is a beast, he picked Tebow up off the ground like he was a toddler in that video.

And Petey...NO ONE CELEBRATES WITH THE DAMN MASCOT!

How hard is it to show a cutscene of the team RUNNING ONTO THE FIELD?!! Honestly...I'm serious.

That would help the "atmosphere" Petey.

Sorry, I'm just venting over stuff that should have been in and STAYED IN this series YEARS AGO.

Still plan on buying it but Good lord I wish there were some guys in charge of this game that UNDERSTAND FOOTBALL. Not a bunch of geeks who have no clue that in reality....football games aren't 65-60 explosions with 17 turnovers a game and 3 penalties.

End of rant.

I hear you AA. Loud and clear. If I didn't know better, I would've thought there was a 7 year old controlling Tebow. I get that he was trying to show "wide-open gameplay" and "user celebrations", but come on, this isn't Childhood Backyard Legends Football (I totally made that title up in case any of you were going to check it out).

When he toggled it over to Freshman everyone here at OS should have just shut the vid down instantaneously, very little was going to be gained from observing that.

I'm getting the feeling though that the Freshman setting had nothing to do with the blazing fast speed of the gameplay though. I think they souped it up big time.

LOL. Actually the Earth moved down and Tebow levitated so Harvin could appear to be picking him up.

How foolish of me. I should have suspected as much, no mortal human could actually life The Tebow from the ground.

It is good to see the PS3 version run smoothly.

The game looks really sped up, don't know if I like it. We'll see. As far as the crazy game play, I'll give EA the benefit of the doubt since it is on Freshman.

This will be a day one purchase day one as usual.

Being a Tennessee fan, here are things that I noticed.

Good:
1. They have our orange alternates.
2. It looks like the surrounding LED video scoreboard has been added.
3. PS3 version is nice and smooth

Bad:
1. They screwed up the orange alternates (not supposed to have white stripes on the pants) (picture).
2. Bad job picking impact players...Arian Foster and Eric Berry are musts. Demetrice Morley, Gerald Jones, and Rico McCoy are quality options for the third.
3. Tennessee is underrated at #19. That's not a big deal though.

UT Impact Players (from video):
1. LB Rico McCoy
2. DE Robert Ayers
3. ? [WR Lucas Taylor? (from Debut Trailer)]

Granted that the gameplay was on "Freshman" and it's hard to know anything without actually playing it, this game looked very similar to NCAA 08 with slightly better graphics and improved juking. Hopefully, the final retail version will have some "Wow!" to it.

Well the only thing I got from that video was that the new lighting system looks damn good. Otherwise I'll have to wait to see more, and rent it myself.

Not too impressed to be honest. Game looks good but seems like the same old stuff that we saw last year.

Was hard to get much of a read on the game from the video. I can't wait till we get actual gamer impressions.

One thing I never understood about the football games is that they never have a game speed slider. I think all other sports games have this. In NHL 08 particularly the slider makes a huge difference in the way the game plays in terms of arcade vs. sim.

You're right to some degree. APF2K8 had levels of speed (slow, normal, fast) and I believe some of the earlier 2K football games did as well. This would be helpful though.

Games looks pretty good to me. One thing I hope they kept in the game was the time change in a game. If it is a dusk game, I want it to be night by halftime or end of the game. That needs to stay.

The cheerleader celebrations looked pretty neat, with the flag waving and stuff.

The lighting looks amazing!!!

Hard to take alot away from that little demonstration given the fact that its on Freshman level and the guy only played on offense.

I liked the speed and the fact that the guy had an incomplete pass that wasn't seemingly close.

I am very, very, very disappointed that once again its stadium fly-by, coin toss without captains on the field and then the kickoff. Wheres the players running onto the field? For that matter, why isn't there at least the captains on the field with the Ref to do the coin toss?

Little minute things I know, but the coin toss with captains is at least in Madden.

Tell me about it....I so looked forward to running my team into the stadium with my custom music

Yeah its hard to tell much from that vid....Im glad the graphics look nice but I don't think I can suffer through another turnover fest again.

When they score a TD, why do they cut away from it so fast?

# 40 spankdatazz22 @ 04/26/08 01:04 AM
Wow it's moving really fast. Too fast imo - with all that speed and seemingly no momentum, not sure where the new juke system is going to matter much. It wouldn't be too bad if they had animations to depict directional changes better; it's like the players are zipping all over the place. Post play cutscenes were fairly well done. Defensive line looks pretty much non-existent; not sure how they get away with not having competent OL/DL play. Good that we got to see a little gameplay video though
