Pasta Padre has posted part one of his hands-on impressions of NCAA Football 09.

Quote:
"At first it took a little while to get acclimated to the player weight, momentum, and foot planting. Movement looks and feels much more natural but at first felt a little heavy. After a few minutes playing though it really began to feel like it was just right. User control is big especially in the running game or in the run after the catch. Elusiveness and acceleration attributes are huge. You can really see the burst and taking bad angles as a defender is punished severely."

Let's all wait and see.

We need a wide wide view to see the outside receiver....i thought EA would be smart enuff by now to incorporate a view like that.....how many times do i have to throw to the flat not being able to see my receiver and there's a DB sitting right there !!!!!!

What?! Madden is getting extra cameras and NCAA isn't? That stinks but if true, I'm sure NCAA will add them next year.

I really can't believe some of the super negativity these initial reports have caused. The guys that wrote them said they had a good time playing the game but there are a couple issues that need work AND they still have time to fix them. That's why they were invited early in the first place. Granted, hearing that there are too many picks and that the cpu still might not go deep enough are big concerns but we really don't know much yet.

Don't get so down ODogg. Just have patience until May 2nd and then these guys like Pasta and Chris will be back to answer all our questions. Right now they can't say anything to verify/deny the good or bad. Their lips are sealed by the NDA.
You are right I shouldn't get so down yet, I just get this feeling of omg it's bad when now even the previews have quite a bunch of negatives. In the past the previews were the omg-this-game-is-so-gonna-rock!

As for the speed I honestly didn't think it looked too fast from the videos, I agree that the past NCAA next-gen games were a bit slow (dunno if i'd say quicksand though) so the vids don't look to terribly fast to me. However I ask because quite a few people have commented they thought it looked way too fast.

Well the PS3 version was quicksand since it was 30 FPS. So seeing this, is exciting for PS3 owners.

I'm really glad the PS3 version looks nearly identical this year and will run at 60 fps. Rudy's happy.

The game definately looks faster on the video than last year. Compare the '09 video (http://www.gamespot.com/video/944960...otball-09-demo) to this '08 video. In '09 you can see from the opening kickoff at the 2:25 mark that the guy is covering 10 yards in 2 seconds and he's not running in a straight line either. In this video review of NCAA '08 http://www.gametrailers.com/player/23041.html , fast forward to the 5:42 mark (right near the end) and watch how slow the WR covers 10 yards on an angle. It takes him 3 seconds to cover 10 yards which is about how fast a fat OL would run. Also check Jamaal Charles of Texas at 3:39 (who is fast) and how long it takes him to get outside as well.

It still looks too damm fast...EA needs to give us a game speed option like NBA games.

You have to remember though that sometimes games look fast or kinda crazy in what is going on but when you play them it's a different story. Watching and playing are two different things. However I can def. see where people have concern.

What I keep thinking myself is the pS2 version always was the best speed and I know it did look crazy fast but when you played it, it didn't seem too fast at all, it seemed perfect.

Nah, he doesn't.

The whole EA/Take 2 deal has led to half the internet proclaiming they have marketing degrees. I didn't realize that I could find so many people with advanced business degrees on the web- boy was I wrong!

I also read that Madden was getting camera angles this year. EA should change it's slogan to "It's In The Game.........Next Year......Maybe......."

Nope, don't have any insider information. I just call it a hunch. But my hunch is based off of information that I have read/gathered.

As for my post that started this, my wording was terrible. What I should've said because the "merger" isn't fact yet, is that 2k probably won't exist after this year. Again, poor choice of words on my part, which leads to miscommunications such as these. For that I do apologize.

Actually I do have business degrees, not sure how advanced they are.
