Matt Blumenthal will be representing Operation Sports at a meeting with 2K Sports tomorrow afternoon, to view a demo of Major League Baseball 2K8.

If you have any questions about the game, feel free to post them here. He will do his best to get the answers after the event, as time permits. We'll post the writeup of the event later this week.

good to see that someone gets to see a demo

if you get a chance to look at sim stats, they mentioned that they fixed the engine (instead of scrapping it and going 3rd party) ... can you see if the total IPs for starters, total Ks and BBs for both pitchers and hitters is a bit more realistic this year

Looking forward to the write up.
My only question is concerning how the game runs.
Does it feel smooth? as far as "herky jerky" player movement?

Excellent news, can't wait for your impressions.

A few questions:
1. When you play with one of the top 100 prospects will it be indicated in the game (e.g., MVP 05)?

2. When playing with minor leaguers (especially A, and AA), will you be able to tell the difference between them and major leaguers (pitching, batting, etc.)?

3. Is their co-op play this year (like the BIGS)?

4. Will we be able to save replays, and perhaps create our own highlight reels (maybe with a separate download utility)?

That's all for now. Thanks in advance!

Question for you Steve. With only about a week before the game releases, it seems that you should also be getting your own demo disc soon, not just viewing a demo showed by 2K.

Any word on that? Once you get it then you can go crazy with many more impressions, vids, etc.

The only question that matters: When will we get it?

-When playing the demo can you confirm if the bat sounds are dynamic based on contact made. Right now they all sound like a solid hit.

-How is the risk/reward with the analog throwing. Will you get punished for pushing the envelope or is it somewhat forgiving?

-How responsive are check swings with the analog batting? Easy or hard to perform?

Thanks!

I have a few questions of my own...

1. When hitting, are there a realistic number of balls thrown?

2. When pitching, will the CPU take third called strikes?

3. How "solid" does hitting feel (does the ball do what it's supposed to)?

4. Doubles? Triples? Or singles and dingers?

5. Does commentary sound more varied than last year?

6. Higher detail at 30fps (2K7), or lower detail at 60fps (2K8) - which game has an overall better feel in motion?

I think that's it. Looking forwar to the impressions!

I believe the answer is no, but are there spring training games before a season starts?

The bat sounds...are they the ones from the trailer or are they the terrible demo ones?

Questions:

1. Will the User be able to adjust the CPU Line-ups & Pitching Rotations via Season/Franchise or GM Mode

2. Do we have In-Game Saves this year game

3. How will you deal with the COMPRESSION problem in the future that caused the 360 version to not have enough disk space for the whole game

Can they make a patch about a month or so after the games out to get rid of the meatball on a bad pitch its an awful feature that just makes the gameplay probably worse because it would help last yrs HR prob. and still help this years as well

Do teammates high five each other?

Example: Vladimir Guerrero hits a 3 run home run...Will the players that were on base greet him at the plate with high fives? If so, will his teammates in the dugout do the same?

Can you get some extended play time with the PS3 version?

Quick Question to ask tomorrow, how do you do a sac-fly?

# 19 MizzouRah @ 02/24/08 06:59 PM
One thing I love about The Show is the fouled off balls.

That being said.. has 2k8 finally reached a point where we'll see a good number of foul balls? I know there's a slider for this, but on defaults (say AS level) how is the pitcher/hitter battle? Are there times where you'll see a 10+ pitch sequence?

my questions are how is the framerate when throwing the ball and when the players are running down the first base line? does the outfielders have those rocket arms? does the ball float around when hit and thrown around? how is the gameplay? does the game have classic away jerseys for all the home classic jerseys? how does the game feel compared to 2k7? thats all for now thanks...........
