also if there is any major issues with the game , will there be a patch for any major issues if there are any with the game?

# 22 blkprince04 @ 02/24/08 08:25 PM

(haven't read all the questions)

is day/night progression still in?

if i don't like swing stick 2.0....and use classic hitting....will i still see the same results in:

hit variety
foul balls
the same ball physics that will appear with swing stick 2.0

# 25 blkprince04 @ 02/24/08 08:51 PM
do the players argue with the umpire?

# 26 bsbllstr876 @ 02/24/08 08:52 PM
Edit.

Never mind that was another game

# 27 blkprince04 @ 02/24/08 09:03 PM
will there be 2 strike foul tips to the catcher, and tipped balls that barely make it past home plate?

# 28 blkprince04 @ 02/24/08 09:04 PM
will players lean into the stands to catch foul balls?

# 29 SPTO @ 02/24/08 09:08 PM
I have no questions but i'll be really looking forward to this. This is the kind of thing that 2K should've been doing a long time ago.

i'd rather play the demo than ask questions about it, cmon just release this bugger to let the consumers have a shot at it.

1) As someone else mentioned-have the check swings been fixed? Can you pretty much "attempt" a check swing when ever you want?

2) When hitting, is there a difference from facing a top pitcher than a mediocre pitcher? And can you descrive this difference as best you can?

3) Is it easier to determine pitch/type location this year when hitting?

4) Can you verify that they ditched the pitcher making a running barehanded grab and then making a perfect jump throw to first animation.

5) Does presentation feel stale and repetitive?

6) How are the in-game sounds (ball hitting glove on catches, players running, contact sounds, etc.)?

7) How difficult is it playing outfield with the new system in which you don't see the balls icon when your player is not looking at the ball? Does it feel right? Too difficult?

what about a 'pitch history' GFX...in-game, not a cut-scene

# 34 DaoudS @ 02/24/08 10:44 PM
please for me check the a variety of swing animations when contact is made. Last year there were only a couple and it was as if the hitters did not followthrough and it looked awkward.

I do know that Kush was asked the other day (I just cant find exactly where the post is) about Day/Night progression and he said YES it is in and better, with it acttually getting darker earlier. The out of town scorebords will not work this year, and the crowds do not catch or reach for foul balls according to him.

Figured out how to find them.

Re: Crowd doesnt go after homeruns anymore?

Fans reacting to balls in the stands went the way of framerate. There wasn't enough memory to go around to keep it in. Believe me, I fought hard for it. In the end, it had to go.

Re: Ben Brinkman is about to answer some real questions

Yup, its still in and tweaked so that it is darker earlier. Last year, it wouldn't get dark until around 9 pm. This year, its starting to get dark right at the beginning of a night game.

Re: Crowd doesnt go after homeruns anymore?

The fans are much more into it. Especially in close/late games. There's also new code in there to make them react progressively throughout a play. I don't think its been tuned as well as it could...

Are there many stat overlays during the game?

# 37 rpm123 @ 02/24/08 11:35 PM
Which minor league stadiums are included in the game?

I want to know this as well. Good question!

I just want to know if the framerate stays fairly consistent

Have fun tomorrow bro

Questions:

1. When playing the computer/AI and the AI goes down in the count 3-0, will the pitcher throw the next pitch right down the middle of the plate? That was something extremely annoying last year, you could always count on that 3-0 pitch going right down the middle of the plate. Was it changed for this year?

2. There has been a lot done to improve the gameplay this year, which is a well needed upgrade, but because of the upgraded gameplay did the presentation take a hit? From what I've seen on the internet with gameplay videos it looks as if the stadiums haven't changed much from last year (except that the advertisements seem to have changed) as well as the crowd and the field itself. So basically did the overall presentation of the game not have much improvement from the last two years? Realistically, from year to year, stadiums usually go through quite a bit of changes, but like I said from the videos I've seen, everything appears to look exactly the same as last year and the year before.

3. Is there any way we can get a specific date or day when we might finally get the demo for ourselves???? I was really hoping that we might have the chance to get use to the new pitching/hitting contols before the game came out, but day after day that goes by it's starting to feel like we won't see the demo at all before the official release, or if we do get it, it might be the day before. Bummer.

4. This might be something that could be answer very easily. If you get a chance to play at Fenway please notice whether the crowd is sitting on red seats (ala last year 2K7), cuz the pictures and videos that I have seen on gamespot, it appears that the crowd behind home plate looks to be sitting on bleachers. And we all know there isn't bleachers behind home plate a Fenway. Thanks
Thanks so much for
