W: 17-3
Call-up Jerome Williams gave this game away to Detroit (7 ER). Furthermore, the Tigers dove deep into the Angels' bullpen. Adam Jones hit for the cycle. Mark Trumbo is scheduled to see hitting coach Don Baylor.
W: 1-0
Ike Davis walked with 2 outs in the 5th. Miguel Cabrera's RBI single, scoring Jose Altuve, was the difference. Matt Cain went 8 innings, pitching around 7 hits. Craig Kimbrel recorded the save. JJ Hardy's hit streak of 13 games was broken.
W: 7-3
Adam Jones homered twice, and Miguel Cabrera added a 3-run shot. That was the bulk of offense needed to overcome the Angels. Ryan Braun also went 4-4. Johnathan Lucroy will also be off to see Don Baylor pretty soon.

W: 8-0
Gavin Floyd loaded the bases in the 5th, and Brett Lawrie cleared them to take a 6-0 lead. Detroit tacked on two more later. In Buster Posey's home debut, he doubled twice.
W: 7-3
Adam Wainwright barely earned both his second quality start and win as a Tiger. Unearned runs opened the door for Detroit early and they never looked back. Jaime Garcia pitched a perfect three inning save. Jose Altuve had 4 hits!
W: 2-1
The Tigers held on to their early lead thanks to strong pitching. Doug Fister only gave up 2 hits over 7 IP. He surrendered the lone run: a home run to Adam Dunn. Craig Kimbrel notched the save after a leadoff single and a caught runner.

W: 12-2
Detroit peppered Boston, mostly relievers with 23 total hits! Ryan Braun homered twice. Adam Jones, JJ Hardy, and Jose Altuve each go 4-5. Every starter recorded a hit.
Game 104
One would think that 6 runs in extra innings would be enough...

W: 21-0
Justin Verlander struck out 8 in a complete game, 3 hit shutout. Both Alex Cobb and former Tiger Felix Doubront gave up 9 runs. Ryan Braun homered twice on a day where he went 4-6. Adam Jones went 5-6, doubling twice, homering, and scoring 4 times! Buster Posey went 2-6 in his Detroit debut. Brett Lawrie also had 5 RBI.
W: 5-1
With a lefty on the mound, you knew that the Tigers already had the advantage. Jerry Sands homered. Matt Cain pitched yet another complete game. Ben Zobrist went 3-4 in the losing effort, despite scoring his team's only run.
W: 5-1
Pre-game tensions were high because Jim Leyland finally had to come face-to-face with his post-ASG comments about former player Jair Jurrjens (the Rays starter that day). Detroit's offense protected him. Miguel Cabrera went 3-4, scoring twice. Adam Jones and Brett Lawrie also went 3-4; both doubled twice.
W: 7-3
Early Tigers runs mattered, since late scoring by both sides cancelled out. Adam Wainwright was a winner in his Tigers debut, giving up only 1 run over 6 IP. Buster Posey hit his first homer as a Tiger. And, Miguel Cabrera hit his 40th HR of the season. He is on pace to break his personal best and now threatens the franchise record.

Detroit recieves Buster Posey (SF), Sergio Romo (SF), Adam Wainwright (STL), and Jaime Garcia (STL).
San Francisco recieves Mike Minor (DET) and David Freese (DET).
St. Louis recieves Brian McCann (DET) and James Shields (DET).
The Tigers were unsure about affording to re-sign McCann. Shields was statistically the worst of the Tiger starters. Minor was not originally intended to be traded, but the Giants inquired about him. David Freese is at his peak, and trading him aligns with the new direction that the Tigers are headed in. Adam Wainwright replaces Shields in the rotation. Jaime Garcia takes the old role of Mike Minor as a spot starter, long reliever, and lefty specialist. Romo's role is unclear in an already stacked bullpen.

W: 4-1
Of all things, Brandon Morrow's fastball was predictable. Brian McCann went 3-4 with 3 RBI. Ike Davis went 2-4, doubling, tripling, and scoring twice. Matt Cain pitched 8 strong innings, giving up the lone run. The Tigers played the matchups in the 9th, rather than going for the statistical save.
L: 8-6 (12)
Mike Minor learned that he is better in relief. The experimental start did not go well for him (4 IP, 5 ER, 11 H). The loss actually went to Frieri, who gave up the game-winning homer to Colby Rasmus in the 12th after hanging a curveball. Sergio Santos blew the save, when Miguel Cabrera's 2-RBI double gave the Tigers life in the bottom of the 9th. There were 41 total hits, as the Jays got the best of the Tigers.
W: 14-8
Early unearned runs opened the door for the Jays, but a 10-run 6th inning gave the Tigers more than enough. Reliever Casey Janssen failed to record an out, but he gave up 5 of those 10 in the 6th. Jose Altuve had 4 hits. Mark Trumbo doubled twice and scored thrice. JJ Hardy hit an inside-the-park home run for one of his three hits.
W: 11-1
Kyle Drabek gave up three home runs. Two belonged to Adam Jones; the other belonged to Brian McCann. Doug Fister surprisingly shut out the Jays over his 7 innings of work. Ernesto Frieri struck out all the batters he faced to close out the game.

L: 1-0
The Rangers laid to rest the longest winning streak in MLB history. They remain the only team to have shut out the Tigers this season; but now, they've done it twice. Neftali Feliz was the reason for the loss, as he dominated the Tigers with that power fastball, slow secondary pitches, and effective wildness.
"Discipline has been the problem all season", says Manager Jim Leyland, "we can tear the cover off the ball, but we swing at the worst of pitches sometimes. By the way, James [Shields] had a great game. It should help his confidence, but the run support was tough for him to stomach." Josh Hamilton's RBI-double produced the game's only run.
W: 5-4
Miguel Cabrera jumped on a Colby Lewis slider to take the early lead with a two-run bomb. Clutch RBI singles from Adam Jones and Mark Trumbo extended the lead. Paul Konerko, the short-time Tiger, killed a curve and diminished the lead to two. David Murphy hit a groundball through the infield, and drove in the final Rangers run. Craig Kimbrel kept the 9th quiet, earning a save.
W: 11-0
The Tigers exacted their revenge with 11 in the series finale. Justin Verlander went the distance for an unprecedented win #20 so early in the season! He struck out 10 and only gave up 3 hits in the 9 innings. Adam Jones went 4-4, with 2 RBI and 3 runs scored. Johnathan Lucroy had his 2nd hit as a Tiger; it was a homer.
Rangers manager Dale Sveum took a strong objection to Brian McCann pinch-hitting in a game where the outcome was practically decided. McCann knocked home two runs, making it 11-0, after a single. Jim Leyland brushed aside Sveum's comments, saying that losing by such a large margin should be a more glaring issue. (Leyland drew laughs from the press.)

W: 7-1
The Tigers didn't miss a beat after returning from the All-Star break. Justin Verlander gave up 1 ER over 6 IP. Mike Minor converted a save by pitching three innings and striking out six. He also came into the ballgame with a 3-run lead. All starters who recorded hits had at least two of them.
W: 13-1
Matt Cain only got through 5 innings, but the bullpen behind him only gave up two hits! Justin Masterson's sinker was not working today (2 IP, 6 ER, 10 H). Ryan Braun had a fabulous day at the plate (3-5, 2B, 2 HR, 5 RBI, 3 R).
W: 14-1
It is not a good day when you have more errors than runs, Indians. The Tigers jumped on Josh Tomlin (3 IP, 7 R, 10 H) en route to the blowout. Johnny Cueto may be headed to the DL (quadricep).
