Better than 08, but not 2k5

Not great, but not terrible.

The game is playable, unlike last year. I like a lot about the game, really I do. I just compare this to a game like 2k5 that's going on half a decade old now and it's still better in almost every way.

No online franchise?!? GAAHHHH!!!

That one thing ALONE completely deflated any excitement I had for the game.

I've been playing NCAA Football 09 for over 3 months now and I feel that THAT game is more visually wide open and plays more fluid. Admittedly, I've only played a few Madden games, and I won't be returning it to the store because I want to play the franchise mode so I can import draft classes, but the point is... Madden 09 is not as amazing as I thought it was going to be, but I'm still holding out.

The Madden Test and some of the in-game replays and the EA Rewind is pretty awesome, I must say.

Still very disappointing. It's improving, but it needs to improve more.

Better than my hype score of 1 after the abortion that Madden 08 was. It was atleast playable unlike Madden 08.

Now the future of the series is really on Madden 2010's shoulders. Many people (myself included) feel like 2010 is the make or break year for our continued support of this series in any way, shape, or form.

Goodlooking visuals, great animations. Needs more life. Presentation needs to be improved even further from 08. The inability to generate sacks, lack of cpu running, and boring franchise bring down the score.
