NFL2K5Tool

Hey guys,
I've created a new program called 'NFL2K5Tool'.
It's a new editor for NFL2K5 roster and franchise save files.
It's advantage over FlyingFinn's editor is that it operates on text.
You can quickly and easily extract the player data from an XBOX (or PS2) gamesave to text format as well as apply that text data to another XBOX (or PS2) gamesave file.
This allows you to extract the player data from one Franchise or roster file and apply it to another gamesave file in a matter of seconds (instead of days of clicky stuff).
The download package contains a word document explaining how to use the program.
Please read the usage document before using the program. Pay close attention to the section dealing with player names.


Also, the program data contains all Player face images (which were extracted from a video of going through all the faces). Not all these faces are mapped properly. If you look in the 'PlayerData\PlayerPhotos' folder there are some un-mapped images that begin with an '_'. If you know who those players are, let me know and I'll update them.

Also, if when opening a gamesave file with Finn's editor after using NFL2K5Tool and Finn's editor asks you if you want to correct some 'Error' click on the 'No/cancel' Button.

What about the PS2 version. Most of us are on PC using PS2 version now that NFL2K5 works with PCSX2 (Ps2 Emulator).

As far as platform goes, it's hard to imagine anything better than playing it on the original XBOX.

I don't have a way to test on PS2 though and I didn't realize people used PCSX2 very much.
I was planning to look into adding PS2 support in the future though.
There is an alternate method for the time being.

Increase your collaboration with NFL2K5Tool

One of the cool things about NFL2K5Tool is that you can more easily collaborate in making new roster files with other users. NFL2K5Tool makes it easy to post your work for others to use.
For example, if I was working on a project with 3 other people, we could divide up the editing work to 2 NFL divisions each. We could then edit the players and post our results in the forums for others to use. Like this:

Where adding this data to your gamesave is as easy as copy and paste.
Tools such as spreadsheets could also be used to take in data and generate content in the format NFL2K5Tool understands.
Also, if other football gamesave editors used a similar format, their data could be transported from game to game (Like say NFL2K4 or a madden game).

is there anyway to turn off user control for franchises on your editor ? I can't stand having to be in charge of all 32 teams .. thanks

I don't have support for that right now.
You can do that in finn's editor by right clicking on the "User" image (next to the switch team button "<") and selecting "Control this team only".
