Getting into College Football; What Team to Root For?

Hey guys. I got NCAA 14 and am loving it. I've decided that I want to start watching college football, and will start doing so when the upcoming season starts. A) I'm a huge NFL fan, and it's good to watch college football to preview guys going into the draft B) NCAA 14 is a lot of fun. But I need to pick some teams to root for. I'm going to root for the Maryland Terrapins (I was born in Baltimore and am a huge Ravens fan) but otherwise I need help choosing some other teams to support. Ideas?

If you enjoy being let down in really crucial moments, can't go wrong with LSU.

In all seriousness, nowadays it depends on what style you prefer. Fast and flashy, power running, little bit of everything, etc.

Watch a few games early in the season and find a team that seems entertaining to you. Then when conference play begins, the games only get better. Use the month of September as a trial run, find a team and go from there.

You could also watch a team that has a lot of TV coverage in your area. Maryland would work for that, but if you can watch a team 2 or 3 weeks in a row on TV, it helps you develop a liking for that team.

If you haven't gone to college, or you are too young to have started the college process...

Then I'd say Oregon. They are flashy, they are fun, they are easy to watch. And that's not going to change.

I rooted for them when I first started watching college football. Then I saw UConn...

VT since they are local, so you'll be able to watch all games on tv without having to buy college gameplan.

Preferably tough/old school, with some fast/flashy, like my Ravens.

Well, there's always a lot of games on, and if I'm not doing anything I'll watch as many as I can, especially high profile match ups. In that way it's possible to just be a fan of the sport. So many entertaining games.

Of course it's always fun to have a team to live and die with. Notre Dame games are always on tv. I think Maryland usually comes on FX around here.
