Please don't.

I obviously can't speak for every CFB fan, but I know a good way to piss people off is talk about how good a draft prospect is when talking CFB. Leave everything pertaining to the draft in the Pro Football forum. If you're in this to enhance your pro football experience, then you're in it for the wrong reasons.

Other than that I really don't care what you do. In the end you'll probably wind up enjoying college football more than the NFL.

Re: Getting into College Football; What Team to Root For?

10 quick reasons to pick Michigan.

1) Class. In a sport that’s in part designed to mold young student athletes, we’re not bringing in guys who “allegedly” happened to be behind the scenes of multiple shootings. We would never hire a guy like Urban Meyer or Nick Saban. That’s the Michigan difference. By and large we hire “Michigan Men,” guys who went here, understand the culture, and what integrity means to our university. You can feel good about your Michigan fandom knowing you’re not supporting a program or even a culture in a redneck town where even the police just happen to look the other way. We’re also not a glorified community college, we’re one of the best public schools, if not the best in the nation. That’s the best of both worlds: Not some exclusive whine and cheese club like S.C. but also not essentially a Phoenix University with a campus like Alabama.

2) You’re a Ravens’ fan so you’re already halfway home brother. Our D.C. Greg Mattison was responsible for putting together some of those most vaunted Baltimore defenses. It would be like a trip home brother.

3) Michigan is almost a Maryland state school. We’re the Terps except we get Maryland’s best talent, have better uniforms, and people actually show up for our games. Why, just this year we signed one of the best kids to come out of Baltimore in a long time named Henry Poggi. Our team also boasts super-talented Maryland natives like Josh Furman and Blake Countess and is setting up a serious pipeline at Maryland’s Good Counsel High School.

4) Let’s revisit the uniforms for a second. There may not be a more recognizable piece of equipment in all of sports outside the Yankees logo than the winged helmet popularized by the Maize and Blue. When you see it, even as a casual fan, you immediately know what it is, and what it represents.

5) That uniform is part of a tradition. The proudest tradition in all of college football. Ask yourself, who better to align yourself with than the winningest team, EVER. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of..._teams_by_wins

6) A big part of that tradition is rivalries. In all of sport it goes 1) Yankees/Red Sox 2) Redskins/Cowboys 3) Michigan/Ohio. It is the greatest spectacle in college sports. It is the ultimate battle of good vs. evil. It is student athletes busting their hump at one of the most competitive intellectual institutions in the world vs. guys who trade treasured memorabilia for “Thug Life” tats, drive around in Corvettes, take absentee jobs during the summer to allow them to drive around in Corvettes, and while they’re driving around in absentee job Corvette’s might as well be doing so with AK-47’s, bottles of Grey Goose, and Ninja Turtle swords. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maurice_Clarett http://espn.go.com/blog/bigten/post/...pryor-and-cars. How can one not pick a side in such a thing? And don’t be fooled by talk of the Red River Shootout or the Iron Egg Bowl or the Pots and Pans Classic or any other “so-called rivalry.. The fact is if you look at college football 3 of the top 10 rivalries may belong to the Michigan football team. Michigan vs. Ohio State, Michigan vs. Notre Dame, and I might even throw in the Battle for the Little Brown Jug.

7) Yet while we mention all this history, let’s keep an eye on the present. This year’s team will be led by Devin Gardner who’s essentially Vince Young +50 on the Wonderlick with better quickness, the ability to play WR and stay out of TGI Fridays. As for the future, Shane Morris is Tom Brady’s Marty McFly. Get his jersey now, you can wear it to the 2017 Heisman presentation before he’s picked #1 overall in the NFL Draft. Also, we have the #1 class in the country this year, so there’s that. http://www.mgoblue.com/sports/m-wres...061213aaa.html

8) Not to mention, you’ll get to enjoy watching your favorite players on Sundays. You’re a Ravens fan. You know what I’m talking about. How’s Troy Smith working out for you? Wish you had oh, I don’t know, the best QB of his generation Tom Brady instead? Or maybe the best CB of his generation Charles Woodson, or maybe beasts like Jake Long, out mighty Space Emporer Zoltan Mesko, or even football players you can root for in Presidential elections like Gerald Ford. I promise you, David Boston will never get a nomination from either major party.

9) Then there’s the Big House. The most storied structure in all of College Athletics. As one prominent rapper famously put it “My stadium - bigger than a bridge, Your stadium look like a little kid's. There’s no place like it, there’s no experience like it, and I bet there isn’t a single building that’s had more important Americans pass through its gates as U of M produces everything from Astronauts to Attorneys to Actors and I’m just in the A’s.

10) 12 noon starts. You heard me. 12 noon starts. Do you really want to wait til 3:30 or 5 something for your game to get out of the way? ABC realizes Michigan grads are busy people with busy lives. We have things to do. We get our game out of the way at 12, and the rest of your Saturday is yours. Let’s see you top that Georgia, Auburn, etc. Sure, we do the occasional night game now, but by and large, the tradition is, get up at 10:30, eat a hardy breakfast, watch us kick the crap out of Indiana and move on with your day

11) BONUS FEATURE – Denard is on the NCAA cover. You don’t want to be one of those pathetic losers asking someone to photo shop (insert irrelevant player) from (insert irrelevant school) on to the cover so you can run out to Kinko’s and print your own cover for $11.95. No. You want to play the game as it was meant to be played. With one of the most electrifying players in the history of college sport on the cover. #16 clad in Maize and Blue. The man known for his 10,000 megawatt smile. The kid who only tied his shoes for the combine and even then only did so for the children: Denard Robinson. A player so electrifying, the Jaguars had to make up a whole new position for him, listing him simply as “OW” or “Offensive Weapon.” The best part is there’s still room on the bandwagon. Hop in now before Devin Funchess wins the Mackey, Devin Gardner runs away with Little Brown Jugs, Heismans, and they both run away with all kind of ESPYs mixed up on each others' mantles because they're the 2 best players in college football named "Devin."

Their tough and old school.
I think the Canes are goin have a better year than most people predict. Their D is definitely on the rise, and their RB, Duke Johnson is fast and flashy.

That being said thou, if you want tough football. SEC all the way.
Fast and flashy, Oregon and maybe Clemson.

Holy ****...that Michigan post. I'm literally choking on the blatant homerism.

Lol at him trying to put no night games as a positive thing. I like both day and night games but c'mon sometimes night game atmospheres are just unreal. ex. Death Valley night game

Didn't Michigan play Notre Dame at night a year or two ago ? That was an awesome atmosphere. I'm always underwhelmed by day games in the major Big Ten stadiums.

Indeed they did, which is why that point (along with the other 9) is really dumb.

Case in point, regarding Urban Meyer...
