My Husker Ratings Edits

Not sure if you other Husker fans are with me, but there are some MESSED UP ratings for Nebraska. I'm going to layout my edits and reasoning for the Huskers, and see if you all agree or disagree. I'll start only with QB's and DB's, and K, since they are the worst offenders.

Quarterbacks

Code:
Zac Lee

Was:

OVR SPD AGI ACC AWR THP THA
 88 80 84 93 80 88 85

Now:

OVR SPD AGI ACC AWR THP THA
 82 74 76 85 78 85 82

Cody Green

Was:

OVR SPD AGI ACC AWR THP THA
 87 81 88 90 73 92 84

Now:

OVR SPD AGI ACC AWR THP THA
 80 78 82 87 63 90 80

Taylor Martinez

Was:

OVR SPD AGI ACC AWR THP THA
 84 83 82 96 68 84 88

Now:

OVR SPD AGI ACC AWR THP THA
 75 86 88 90 60 85 78
Explanation:

I don't know where on earth EA came up with these acceleration ratings, but they are crazy. On the whole, our QB's are rated way too highly for what they've shown on the field. I adjusted awarenesses down, and kept them in with how old they are, and how long they've been in the offense. Made Taylor Martinez a little faster, but reduced his passing quite a bit, as he's more of a highly talented project as a passer. Lee has more field awareness than Green, but Green has a better arm and is faster. Lee is still the better QB overall.

Defensive Backs

Code:
Prince Amukamara

Was:

OVR SPD STR AGI ACC AWR TAK BLS PUR PLR MNC ZNC PRE RLS
 91 94 56 90 84 94 63 61 95 94 98 93 94 52

Now:

OVR SPD STR AGI ACC AWR TAK BLS PUR PLR MNC ZNC PRE RLS
 95 94 62 96 92 97 68 67 95 96 99 95 96 60

Alfonzo Dennard

Was:

OVR SPD STR AGI ACC AWR TAK BLS PUR PLR MNC ZNC PRE RLS
 88 91 59 86 90 88 60 62 89 90 96 94 88 61

Now:

OVR SPD STR AGI ACC AWR TAK BLS PUR PLR MNC ZNC PRE RLS
 90 91 65 90 90 92 65 69 91 92 96 95 92 70

DeJon Gomes

Was:

OVR SPD STR AGI ACC AWR TAK BLS PUR PLR MNC ZNC PRE RLS
 84 91 52 85 92 85 61 60 86 87 87 96 80 61

Now:

OVR SPD STR AGI ACC AWR TAK BLS PUR PLR MNC ZNC PRE RLS
 86 90 69 85 91 91 71 72 88 89 89 94 85 66

Eric Hagg

Was:

OVR SPD STR AGI ACC AWR TAK BLS PUR PLR MNC ZNC PRE RLS
 85 92 63 88 89 90 76 63 87 89 86 86 70 61

Now:

OVR SPD STR AGI ACC AWR TAK BLS PUR PLR MNC ZNC PRE RLS
 88 90 74 88 89 93 81 78 87 93 83 91 70 61

Ricky Thenarse

Was:

OVR SPD STR AGI ACC AWR TAK BLS PUR PLR MNC ZNC PRE RLS
 87 80 69 87 82 90 80 68 90 95 85 94 73 64

Now:

OVR SPD STR AGI ACC AWR TAK BLS PUR PLR MNC ZNC PRE RLS
 85 82 75 85 82 86 80 68 88 92 85 89 73 64
My thoughts here are simple. This is one of, if not THE best, defensive backfields in the country, and they simply aren't rated that way. Compare them to a Bama or Texas, and you'll see why they mostly needed upped in the ratings. Prince got a big jump, as he is easily a first rounder, and probably top 20 pick. Dennard got bumped up a little. I made Gomes a more "big-hitter" type of DB. Pretty much everyone got awareness bumps up, do to the type of defense they are able to handle and execute in Pelini's defense. Thenarse got graded down a bit because of his injuries and coming back he likely isn't on par with the rest of the DB's.

Kickers

Code:
Alex Henery

Was:

OVR AWR KPW KAC
 91 70 94 89

Now:

OVR AWR KPW KAC
 95 85 95 96

Adi Kunalic

Was:

OVR AWR KPW KAC
 87 74 95 80

Now:

OVR AWR KPW KAC
 88 74 99 80
Henery is the most accurate kicker in Husker history, and one of the most accurate in the country. Additionally, he's one of the most accurate punters in the country too. His rating was way too low. Kunalic is by far the most powerful kicker in the country, with 86 career touchbacks, more than anyone in the country.

I'd agree with what you've done so far. i can't remember the LB ratings off the top of my head, but those might need to be lowered a bit.

Yeah I would agree with you there.

I haven't sifted through the ratings either, but it feels Helu needs more agility and Burkhead more strength

Burkhead actually plays very realistic, to me. He just puts his head down and powers forward for me.

I would agree on Helu. I think he needs more juke/spin ability, but i think his overall rating of 93 is about right, so I feel like I'd have to take away somewhere. Maybe the injury rating, but i don't know if that actually affects OVR.

Re: My Husker Ratings Edits

I actually made the same changes to my Nebraska's roster too. QB's are WAY too highly rated, so I dropped them to all 82, and I increased Henry's rating to a 96. I thought Burkhead was rated too high, but I don't know enough about him to change any of his ratings. Good reasoning on increasing the two CB's though, I will do the same to mine too. Overall, how did Nebraska's roster turn out? I know Colorado's is an absolute mess; the have a ton of players and wrong positions, and the four of the top six CB's, aren't even on the game.

PS: I am bummed this is the last year to see Nebraska the day after Thanksgiving

Ha I wouldn't think a CU fan would think burkhead is overrated after what he did to you guys last year.
