Why can't they get this done??????

Yes I know it's not perfect but it sounds so much more like a real life broadcast compared to MLB The Show 17! These 3 guys really sound like they are in the same booth together at all times. And unlike MLB The Show 17 these guys are having conversations with each other though out the whole game.

Makes me so sad because MLB The Show is such a fantastic baseball game but the one thing they just can not get right is the Commentary. 2k Commentary has improved even more now with NBA 2K.

I would love to know what the MLB The Show developers think of 2K's Commentary and if there goal is to not only get MLB The Show Commentary on the same level but surpass it.
Love the stadium ambiance and the franchise stats and overlays. I particularly like the overlays where shows how batter fared in last game against x team and how the batter has fared playing in a particular stadium. Also how efficient a pitcher has been, etc. Just lots of "little things" that add so much to the game. Has SDS ever answered why IE is not in franchise mode? And yes the announcing is amazing!

Pine no more.

Please don't destroy me with hateful comments for pointing out a simple fix. For those of you that complain about the nationals jersey color looking off, or the grass looking washed out etc... this was bothering me too in the past and I've found that if I simply make a few minor tweaks to my tvs picture menu, for the most part these problems are fixed. I'm at work now l, but I can and will post picture or video later

I didnt read through all of the posts but one little thing Id like to see is the shadow under the hat when players are putting a hat on. It looks off still. Hopefully this will be fixed

Re: MLB The Show 17 Twitch Stream - Presentation & Commentary

Just got a chance to watch the whole stream through uninterrupted. I have to say that I am very impressed.

Pros
-Why aren't more people excited about the stadium tagging? That's a really cool feature. Imagine you're chising as the Cubs and Matt V notes that the ball went onto Sheffield Ave. A hugely immersive tidbit for the home team.

-I find the StatCast stuff to be a great addition and really well done. We got to see an 84 mph toss from Brandon Crawford ranging toward the middle whereas Tulowitzki was in the 70s jumping away from the throw in a previous stream. The numbers seem to be fairly accurate even if some of the exit velocities might be inflated. Route accuracy and hang time are pretty cool ones to include as well.

-The living batter-vs-pitcher matchup stats are an incredible addition for the franchise player. I would like to see them go even further and allow you to display this info before a game to help set lineups.

-One of the devs (Mike Compton?) answered a question about them working on commentary for playoff games and key moments..he said "yes, there's quite a bit of new content there and, umm, we don't want to show it all off..."

-I thought both Reynolds and Plesac sounded good. I disagree with some people saying that Plesac never really talked much. Listen to the whole stream and you hear him chime in frequently.

-New outros.

Cons
-I saw the leaning outfield catch animation when Cespedes caught the final out of the 1st inning. That was my 2nd least favorite animation (after the suction into the wall) because it is way overused.

Obviously this won't be in the game this year, but technology doesn't stand still. Catch Probability in Statcast for 2017:

Agree with all of the above. People are really sleeping on Stadium tagging. It's probably because we only got to hear one example of it. I didn't think it was that big a thing until I watched Millennium's breakdown of it - he covers a lot of the possibilities for it really well. Showing us the stadium meshes in the stream was a pretty technical thing and there's probably a lot of people who didn't understand it.

Re: MLB The Show 17 Twitch Stream - Presentation & Commentary

Regarding the stadium tagging (which is a cool addition), I am curious if the balls that hit off the metal out of town score board at Fenway Park's Green Monster will resonate with a loud metal "twang" like they do in the real world. Last year I played the season with the Sox and was disappointed that there was no difference in the sound regarding what part of the Green Monster the ball hit. Perhaps I played with the Sox one year too soon?
