My worst fear: a patch will corrupt the positive gameplay effects.

Im looking forward to seeing impressions post patch. An update that is unrelated to zone coverage of QB inaccuracies could still very will ruin those aspects.

I hope it is not the casd but I am holding out until then. I hope the positive gameplay aspects remain in effect and untouched.

More than 25 years later and still no punt or FG blocks. In two full games and a portion of another, I have yet to see a single penalty of any sort called.

I do like the community play calling feature, but other than that I feel like I'm playing a high-res version of Madden 2000.
You attack a game and then use NBA 2k14 and FIFA 14 as titles to aspire to?!? FIFA 14 wasn't great at all and hasn't been for a while. There seems to be a real misconception about fifa and I put that down to people not really caring about footie (soccer for you Americans) that much. As for NBA 2k, as beautiful and as great as that title can be, this one was flawed. Go and play previous iterations of Madden and then compare them. Your attack was lazy.

So only positive impressions are allowed? Uh, no. It's his impression, and just because you disagree, doesn't mean you have to call him out.

Re: Madden NFL 15 Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (XB1/PS4)

It's been nearly a week of Madden 15 for me and I've had some of the best games ever. A lot of good in this title and well worth every cent. I like the direction the game is headed and I hope that Rex and his team are able to stay the course with minimal intervention from suits and others at EA that have no understanding of football.

While I am still somewhat optimistic that I'll be able to find sliders or settings that can help resolve some of the game play issues, the robo QB is in full effect in M15 and it's about as bad as I've seen it. Yes the zone coverage was improved and yes there are errant throws. However, the balance that was hyped is not there. Are there errant throws? Yes....from the USER. The defenders are more active in zone defense....for the CPU.

M15 is a fair offensive challenge for the user and it's the best it's ever been. It's also a challenge defensively but it's not fair. I still see my defensive teammates standing still in zone coverage. My teammates do not cover the flats properly. I have seen the CPU QB throw errant passes but it is rare. If I am able to cover a play the CPU QB stands in the pocket taking a ridiculous amount of sacks. I have also seen on several occasions the old CPU QB run to the right and fire a bullet pass all the way across the field for a completion. Ridiculous that this is still in the game.

There are more lower scoring games in Madden this year because the CPU defense is finally where it needs to be and because the CPU offense will dink and dunk all the way down the field with flat passes, screens, and curls.

The biggest issue with this game from a user vs. CPU perspective right now is CPU QB AI. Lousy AI leads to too many sacks, lack of deep passes by the CPU, and unrealistic completion percentages. What determines where the CPU will throw the ball? Why does the CPU QB throw a 5 yard crossing route on 3rd and 12? The CPU needs to scramble more. The CPU needs to throw on the run more. The CPU needs to throw the ball down field more.

Still optimistic though....

Sweet! Thanks for the info. I thought I was only one of a few that this (qb signatures) was really important to! It is a new thing to me that the developers are actually chiming in on fixes in this topic. I don't remember that ever, so thanks Rex for looking in on us now. This way we focus on 15 with no need for 16 talk this early. Maddenitis!

The game feels fine and looks great but I'm really shocked by the lack of "face-scans." Has anyone spotted more than three from the rookie class (being Manziel, Bridgewater, and Clowney)?

Re: Madden NFL 15 Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (XB1/PS4)

Okay, my mini review.

Honestly, this is the first NFL game where I can honestlysay it feels like an NFL game for real on Sunday. No offense to poeople wholike rap music and some today's music, it's not all bad, but I'm glad thosedays of those terrible soundtracks are gone. It's not NFL Films music which Iso adored in Madden 10 and 11 , but the new music is more of anorchestrated score and I'm completely down with that and it fits the mood ofNFL Sunday in most respects. The closeups after a play, the replays, the cameraangles, the awesome celebrations, the crowd atmosphere is even great! And do we have lively sidelines for a change? We certainly do!

After the virtual highlight reel the game put you in ofthe NFC Champ game, you are offered to go into the training modes or dive into the ultimate team or other modes. The training was a nice addition and Ilearned a lot about the new defensive mechanics and I was instantly having ablast learning how to play again. Was also surprisingly long, they really wentall out of this year for training. If you liked minicamp on Madden back in theday, you'll love the training in 15. Iknew if the training is fun, the main game had to be fun too right? Well, let's see here...

The difficulty level has gotten tougher IMO. I usually start on pro but went for All Proand the cpu was hard to stop, but not impossible... The Browns beat me on myfirst game (Eagles 14 to 10) but it was a fantastic an exciting game and Ididn't want it to end. But what stood out? I could play freaking DEFENSE!!! Although I was learning with that new defensive cameraangle. Is it me, or did they somewhat borrow from backbreaker? That threw me off back in the day, it's throwing me off now, but it grows on you andI like playing behind the defense for a change and it works well.

Again, I mentioned before, you do occasionally see somepretty outrageous animations especially near the end of a tackle with guysflopping around again like in 25, but it's definitely been addressed and toneddown significantly and overall, it really feels and looks good.

Offense feels great as the defense does. The typicalcontrols still will be right home with the Madden guys. Running game is a blastand run blocking continues to improve each year, and I feel the holes areeasier to distinguish in this game. Passing is smooth and doesn't seemoverpowering. I tried a few of my money plays I learned over theyears and they all seemed to be contained. Computer A.I. is smart and mixes itup. I love the play calling screens. I really like the ability to look through so many plays and the recommended playsalways seem like a good option when you're wanting to do hurry up.

Graphics are fantastic. As good as MLB The Show and NBA2k? I sure think so. The players face scans are fantastic, and are better than you would expect considering they are usually hiding under their helmets, but there is an amazing amount of detail especially for big name guys like Peyton Manning. Coaches are eerily like their actual counterparts. So muchlove was to make this look more real than it already did, and Madden 15 getsnearly everything right in the graphics department.

The commentary is the only thing that continues to disappoint. It's an improvement from last year, all be it a miniscule one. Ilike Nance, but i think I heard his voice over the years too many times onNCAA. The halftime show and end game summaries are very nice though, the broadcast presentation as a whole truly feels like an NFL Sunday broadcast, canprobably lean on CBS a bit with the vibe I get when I play.

The game offers online tournaments, connected franchise modes, online quick matches, roster sharing (woo hoo) and LEGENDS are back! I don't know how many yet, but nice to see I can make my own players too and makemy own classic teams! Look out everyone, the 86 browns will be coming for you!

Madden 15 is not Madden 25 with updated rosters, thisgame feels great, feels new, and feels fresh. EA put a lot into their game thisyear and made me a believer that EA can still make a good football game on ayearly basis if they want to. Madden 15 is proof for me. I give it a 9 out of 10.

Still in the honeymoon phase but can't get over the upgrade in presentation over M25. All adds to the immersion, which has always been lacking in Madden. Commentary is meh and gets repetitive, but I tend to tune that out over time anyway. Oh, and the fade outs between quarters and the ad coming back from commercial break between 1st and 2nd qtr. Nice touch. The crowd sounds are excellent (finally). Road games feel like road games. Just played a game on the road with KC in Denver and the immersive environment was actually intimidating. Love that.

One other note: Totally convinced that penalty sliders have a definite affect on gameplay. Out of the box and all set at 50, I was seeing very few (if any) penalties so raised them all to 100 and figured I'd work backward if any issues arose. Immediately my running game all of a sudden went completely to nothing over the next several games. My O Line wouldn't hold blocks and my RBs were getting smashed every time they carried the ball. Avg'd about 1 ypc. Lowered clipping and holding back to 50 and the running game returned to normal (4-5ypc.) and holes in the line started appearing again. Facemasks and roughing the passer calls also skyrocketed, so I've lowered each of them back to 52 and those calls seem to be in line now. If having a realistic running game means I don't see holding or clipping calls, so be it.

All in all, best Madden in years. Damn, I just wish NCAA could have stuck around and gotten the next gen treatment. Oh well.

Has anyone else had this experience where the penalty sliders were affecting their running game? Cause I was able to run when I first started playing but now I'm struggling too and coincidently it was after I raised the penalty sliders
