so don't know if this was brought up or is planned in this patch, but will I be able to choose the other teams uniforms a the team selection screen. it'd be nice since i could last year and playing in the throwbacks and or alternates is quite enjoyable. one other thing that would be nice to fix is taking out the pink after the weeks it applies to is over, like last year. I just played a playoff game and the pink ribbon was still on the field. not trying to sound insensitive just prefer authenticity.

Another interesting thing about older football games, you never had a "do ratings matter" discussion for most of the ratings.

You could see it at work, you could feel the ups and downs of your player. While there were some bugs, and some things aren't realistic/balanced/don't work as expected - the overall and major areas, you can tell out of the box with no customizing or tons of test seasons to try to grasp bits and pieces of effects and inconclusive/conflicting conclusions from even the best in the community.

I don't need to turn down my sliders to make Tyrod Taylor worse than Joe Flacco or to capture the inconsistency of Flacco.

Older games seemed to be about capturing the strengths and weaknesses of players and teams first and foremost, even if they were exaggerated (like Bo Jackson). I know if the CPU is Oakland, I better heavily defense the run and hope for the best against the pass.

It seems modern games care too much about "balance" than to really capture differences - leading to "do ratings matter" and "ratings need to be spread" discussions.

From a disk capacity perspective, how big and diverse can one game be and still fit on a DVD? But then maybe by the time Madden needs to be bigger capacity wise the new next next GEN consoles will be out like the suggest durango (xbox720?) and the PS4, with greater DVD capacity developed in the next 2 years?

I am typing calmly even though I am absolutely flabbergasted by your statements here. 1st, Emm has already said there are memory issues with what can and can not be in M13 (i'll assume he means for blu-ray unless they have to dumb it down for xbox and thus make both versions the same)

2nd, really? lack of dedication and quality? Did you actually play HC09? where are you getting this information from? there is quite a large contingent of us that still play HC because of the quality and the dedication that was a part of HC. Just go spend an hour over in the HC thread now...go ahead, I'll wait... ... ... ... ... ... yeah, did you notice all of the game designers, developers, programmers, that were in that forum? The quality of HC was and is still better than M13 which is working on becoming HC via CCM.

I really really really really really really wish I knew the real reason they didn't make another HC. I don't think Josh has ever really said, at least not to me. But I do know that it was a quick and sharp decision as if to make it less painful. It seems HC was hardly out more than a few weeks before we knew there would be no more. (maybe a few months, i'm sure someone will reply with the specifics)

The CCM you see today, whether you like it or not is a spawn of HC although only a shadow of it so far becauseof the quality and dedication. I'm not a fool, I know HC wasn't perfect by any means, and it was released with some pretty serious bugs, but they were fixed because of that what did you say? lack of dedication?

Anyway, you are entitled to your opinion, and I am entitled to spread some knowledge but really, did you play HC???? (I think I was still nice, I hope I was, I really meant to be, but serious, I lost my breath when I read this. I mean have you not seen how many posts in this forum reference HC for what needs to be done for CCM?? okay, enough with you, now I have to reply to the other person who said HC failed because there was no user control... )

SloeyEZ: I played both HC08 & HC09....Great that people are still playing the game...I am one of those who are not, but hoping parts of CCM become what HC09 was trying to be....

Opinion is just that, and my opinion is as I stated prior, and will defend that HC09, had many issues, off the top of my head I do not recall as it has been about 3 years since I played....Graphics I do remember being subpar compared to that years Madden....And yes, lack of dedication, else why stop after 2 years? That is what I mean by lack of dedication....Has nothing to do with whether they put a patch out or not, they discontinued the game....

Infinity Engine Group focuses solely on developing the engine, animations, presentation...

The other groups take what it's given and caters to it's consumer base and what is important to them. They both share the same advertising. We buy the game we want. And if we want both we buy both.

The fail of head coach was there was no user control of players. It was strictly Coach mode only and used previous years tech and animations. But as far as Simulation and Depth and Options, it was solid fare.

As large as the Online/MUT group may appear the Franchise group is just as large if not larger because of Offline Play. Couple that in with the Explosion of Fantasy Football in recent years. A Fantasy Franchise caters to that potential new market for MADDEN consumption.

Either Way they create the same number of disc, Same amount of marketing empowering the user to choose, Same number of Devs. The bonus is more money from those who want both.

Lets be honest here. ONLINE, MUT, and SUPERSTAR play have nothing in common with FRANCHISE mode besides roster and the sport of football. The Quarter lengths are different, You have no major effect on playcalling or team development in SUPERSTAR, in MUT players do no progress. They're 2 completely different games that can standalone and apart from each other.

I know this Because Football Games at one time sold successfully and consistently without ever having ONLINE, MUT, or SUPERSTAR modes.

A coaching sim, not a player sim, or arcade game (sorry to go there again Maddenites :\ ) with cheesy user control teenagers and basement dwelling ... nevermind, not gonna finish that, I thought I'd be nicer on this one since I already posted the other msg...okay anyway...

No user control was a feature of HC not the reason for its fail. There is nobody I have ever heard on hear say that wow, they would have really liked HC more if you could control the players....because they are playing Madden. HC was for those of us that wanted to develop teams and test our football knowledge via a simulation/strategy game. It was never about user control, so to say it was the reason for fail is just an utter misunderstanding.

I'm just gaining my breath back from these two posts lol, I just really have no idea where you two came from!! Oh, and Emm did mention that having a two mode system, one coaching and one player would be the ultimate way to go..all things considered, so hopefully we can all be pleased

Oh, and you say 08 graphics engine as if that was a bad thing. I say it allowed the team to focus on gameplay both on and off the field as graphics, quite honestly, are not important when gameplay does not function as a competent simulation....I would, in fact, argue quite vehemently that the focus on graphics is one of the major malfunctions of M13. (by graphics I mean all other functions other than gameplay)

Oh, and some of us never wanted to play Tecmo style where you can zig-zag (isn't that still a complaint?) to bunch up the defenders ala Bo (may he rest in peace) Jackson. Some of us have always wanted what HC was, a simulation based on football knowledge rather than joystick control. Yes, I know we are in the minority, and your point of two games is understood, but EA has already made that decision once and is now obviously trying to do it in one game, which I agree with you is an error.

Anyway, hope I didn't offend you in any way, not my intent, I obviously take HC comments too personally peace and

There was not HC08 unless that was a typo for 06. Okay, lack of dedication to the franchise, I will relatively agree, but since I don't know why it was cancelled, I can't say it was because of a lack of dedication but the team's dedication to that game can not be questioned!! They had a roundtable of like 9 coaches (iirc) discussing the game and involved pre and post launch as consultants. Sure the graphics are not great, but what was happening on the field was and I STILL see animations I've never seen before and actually go WoW out loud, as I did just last night after losing the Super Bowl by 1 point because my WR didn't go straight to the ground and fought for yards which was in the animation and killed my chance to call the timeout to kick the field goal I was now in range for Or seeing the animations on the sidelines (yeah there were clones without helmet decals...gotta laugh...but you could overlook stuff like that because of the gameplay and the animations that were good)

Do I hope Madden CCM becomes at least half as good as HC...of course!! It is why I bought Madden again for the first time since 05 when the first HC came out.

Just couldn't let your blasphemy of HC go without a response

SloeyEZ: It is all good and I admire your dedication to HC....And yes, typo on the 06....My Packers won tonight so I am a little in the clouds....lol

I am looking forward to Tuesday and trying out the Coach Mode in CCM....I want an updated and advanced HC game more than anything....

I'll admit I was most likely a little too critical of HC09, I did love the game....and still love the concept and what was in the game....
