Have this talk every year, And every year it's the samething. As long as the players play like they do in real life. The overall ratings don't matter.

LeBron will be rated 100.

The reason you see bloated ratings for stars every year is due to overinflated awareness and speed ratings. This could be augmented even moreso this year if sig skills also factor into ratings.

The better choice for accuracy and realistic-gameplay-producing ratings would be to expand the parameter windows instead of pushing the ceilings across the board to generate appealing outcomes.

The default player ratings and the "silent treatment" regarding the State of the Servers makes it clear that online play has been neglected again... And that puts me on the fence.

So Kobe can't run yet he's a 93, Melo can't win yet he's a 92 and Rondo can't shoot yet he's a 90.

The 2K Insider strikes again.

By this logic, Mario Chalmers should be the highest rated point guard in the game.

You guys.

True, but considering the fact he heated up that much in a month is why they probably rated him that way. Plus with the display he put on in the Olympics....yeah. For him they are probably going by what he's done lately.

Anyways, the rating system is probably a combination of what they did in the last month of the season/playoffs while the rest is partly calculated by what they did the entire season.

That's my guess at least.

Kobe should be a 91. His defensive ratings should of went down enough to get him to 91.

These rating are a little high for Kobe and Melo , but I understand why , if a big part of the fan base are casual players which lets be honest casual is bigger than sim players , 2k has to make the "superstars" have a high rating if they made them all lower then people wouldn't want to play the game as often .
