Re: What Does MLB 13 The Show Need to do Next Year to Satisfy Your Baseball Gaming Ne

- Some kind of an expansion mode that includes creating your own stadium and includes Diamond Dynasty's uniform and logo editor.
- Get rid of actual player pictures and just use the computer faces for everyone so when players get traded the immersion doesn't break.
- A greater variety of face types for generated players so that players look more unique.
- More hairstyles and equipment in the player editor, such as necklaces, earrings, and dreadlocks, among other things.
- When choosing that a player is not born in the USA, give a list of specific countries to choose from, would be a nice little detail to have.
- Be able to edit coaches, fire/hire coaches in season.
- Let the umpires in the game eventually retire and be replaced by generic umpires.
- In the All-Star Game, I know that due to hardware limitations each player cannot wear their actual uniform, but after the current year's All-Star Game is passed in the game, I think a generic All-Star uniform for both leagues should be used for the rest of a season or franchise. For example, the Royals All-Star Game uniform should not still be used in the 2018 All-Star Game, but some generic uniform should be used.
- A lighting upgrade would be nice, better textures, less clipping between uniform and equipment, such as a shin guard, and new looks for stadium grass and dirt.
- More classic stadiums and classic uniform options, or even better, the option to make a new uniform for a current team in a franchise, as well as relocate a current team, such as the Rays, to a new created stadium.
- A changed drafting system. The way players are drafted has looked the same for several years, and some kind of change in look might give drafting a fresh coat of paint.
- Bring back the Hall of Fame page on franchise so that all inductees can be seen. Managers should be able to be inducted into the Hall. Also, the season and career records pages should be expanded to feature more aspects of the game such as awards won. Team records and manager records should also be included.
- There should be a top prospect list in franchise and season mode each season, maybe a top 10 prospect list for each team.
- Everything put into franchise mode should also be put into season mode. The Rule 5 Draft is actually something you can do in franchise, but you cannot actually do it in season mode, which annoys me.
- I think Rivalry Mode should be terminated as I don't see any real point in it. I think the old mode from the PS2 should be brought back, the one where you choose a pitcher and a hitter and you have to hit the ball into certain targets like a glove or a bulls eye, I don't remember the mode's name but it was very fun and should be brought back.
- There should be a ticker in franchise and season mode when a big trade goes down or a big signing has occurred or a team has won the World Series or a top draft pick has signed. There used to be a contract ticker on the PS2 but that disappeared.
- More Minor League and Spring Training stadiums would be cool. Maybe some awesome stadiums you could unlock would be cool, like a cornfield stadium or a stadium on the moon (probably won't happen, but would be pretty cool).
- Teams should be better at drafting. Almost every first round in the amateur draft each June in the game all the top picks seem to have potentials of C, D, or F, and rarely B or A, so I always end up getting the B's and A's, even in the last round sometimes. Teams should KNOW about a players potential and draft A's and B's very high.
- Enough with the pant style that cuts off at the top of the cleat. Players today almost always wear the baggy pants, high socks, and sometimes stirrups, but almost never that first pant style which I see generated players always wear.
- Rain delays would be cool, as well as double headers, though I know they would mess up all the schedules and such.
- Roofs actually opening and closing would be a neat little touch as mentioned by others.
- The option to generate a fictional league for a season or franchise with all generated players.
- No generated players should have the generic 1 stances, everyone should be unique like it actually is in the MLB. Of course, every once in a while a player should get generic 1, but very rarely with so many other stances to choose from.
- Hopefully the crowd could look a little better, they usually look pretty low-res. Also, the crowd often stands up, but that should only happen in fairly big moments, not a first inning walk. In the playoffs, crowds need to be MUCH louder and crazier than in the regular season, as crowds should also recognize big moments like big player milestones or clinching wins.
- New celebrations for a World Series win, clinching games, and milestones.
- If a team is awful, the stadium should be pretty empty. If a team is amazing, they should have sellouts.
- Some team logos and graphics for the broadcasts are pretty low-res and should definitely be spruced up.
- Dave Campbell should honestly be gone at this point, and I think Eric Karros isn't right for the series. Matt Vasgersian should stay, but one or two more decent announcers should be brought in. Plenty of new lines should be recorded, as the flow of the commentary needs to improve as it has gotten very stale. For example, when a ball it carrying out of the park, there needs to be some buildup before it crosses over the fence.
- The newspaper talking about previous games in franchise and season was a nice touch, but I think it would be better to have a sort of recap show detailing big things around the league as well as your personal team's games.
- More animations to keep it fresh as always, including more swing animations.
- The ability to argue calls that are close, and the ability to be ejected if you argue too much.
- If a pitcher throws at several batters or something along those lines, a fine could be charged at the player.
- More scouting should be brought back, especially into season mode.
- Career stats for each player would be nice to view.
- The ability to retire the numbers of players in the hall of fame, and the ability to unretire their numbers.
- Some shadows should be cleaned up on the players. For example, when a player is wearing baggy pants, the shadows on the pants can look jagged and just plain ugly, same as the shadows above or below the belt of a player can look.
- A new look of franchise, season, and the menus and interface in general need a facelift to keep the game fresh. Some of the modes have looked very similar for a while.
- Specific music intros for the All-Star Festivities, spring training, minor league games, playoffs, and major league games.
- The Futures Game should also be in season mode.
- 2-player franchise and season mode making a return would be nice.
- I think a hair color option should be "graying" as in mostly the original hair color but with wisps of gray as commonly seen in older players.
- More ballpark ads would be a nice touch.
- I know Madden and NCAA Football are using 3-D grass in screenshots and replays, and it looks awesome, but it should only be put in if it can be used during gameplay.
- A playoff mode would be appreciated, especially if the crowd is improved for playoff situations.
- You should get a notification in franchise or season mode if your city is hosting the All-Star Game that season.
- Older free agents should be handled better. When the offseason reaches late February, I can usually sign decent older players to 1 year, 30K contracts. I have signed Jeter, Beckett, Beltran, Ortiz, and several others to these contracts and they have great seasons for me. Other teams should try and sign these players for veteran leadership or something.
- Team chemistry should be factored for each team, and it should minimally help or work against a team. Players should have a leadership level to help the chemistry go up or down on a roster.
- Players should not often retire at 36, especially really good players that just had a really good season, doesn't make much sense. I can see 38 or older as common, but 36 is still a bit young. Injury retirements should also go down, as in three seasons in my season mode Joe Mauer, Stephen Strasburg, and Ryan Braun all retired very early from injuries. That should RARELY happen.
- Weather should change a player's performance more, such as slipping in rain, less accurate in fog, and breath showing in cold weather.
- Thanks for listening to all of my ranting, I will probably think of some more later!
- Remembered something else: The physics are obviously improved this year and look pretty good, but I still think they need some tweaking in certain areas. When a foul ball bounces back off the wall in foul territory, the physics just don't look right for some reason.

I want the old Busch Stadium in the game. The cookie cutter style, Busch Stadium II. I miss it, real bad. That's where I fell in love with baseball.

More realistic "no doubt" home run animations. It's rare to see a guy literally turn around and flip or throw his bat. Those animations can stay in the game, but many more realistic animations should be added.

Re: What Does MLB 13 The Show Need to do Next Year to Satisfy Your Baseball Gaming Ne

I don't recall this being an issue in past itterations but maybe it was and I just never noticed it. Anyway, the issue is players being locked in animations. For example, I played a game this morning in which the CPU pitcher popped up a bunt. I got in position and made the catch and saw the runner from second 3/4 of the way to third so I attempted to make a quick throw back to second to double the runner off. However, my pitcher was stuck in this slow animation in which he made the catch, continued to take 3 more steps despite not really having that much momentum, made a slow turn and then lobbed the ball to second despite my throw meter being maxed out. This isn't the only instance that I've had things like this happen but this one really bothered me because had I doubled the runner off I would have been out of the inning, instead the next guy up belts a three run homer, costing me the game.

Re: What Does MLB 13 The Show Need to do Next Year to Satisfy Your Baseball Gaming Ne

Every year, they make the game play better and better. It’sthe smaller things I’d like to see addressed. We need an option that acts like a league commissioner that can approve all trades before they are final. No matter how much you pay attention, ridiculous trades manage to get by and you’re forced to let the trade stand or replay the last day. With this option on, no trade is official until it is approved.

I’d like to see a change with the uniforms. Year after year, certain teams have problems with their uniforms and I know it’s because of the style guide.

There needs to be some kind of team editor where we can setthe default colors for a team. We could set the default shoe color as the coaches all wear the default shoes. We should be allowed to change the uniform numbers for the coaching staff. We could set the default batting helmet style for a team and I’d like to see the old batting helmet with no ear protectors added for the classic rosters. We could also enable the retired numbers in this screen for classic rosters. It’s silly to create classic rosters but not allowthe players to have their actual numbers. We could also choose to have player names on the back of the jersey or remove the names.

We need to be able to edit the uniforms with the editor thatis already in the game. This would fix the problem of having incorrect uniforms. In the game, Cleveland wears navy blue under their alternate home uniforms but they should be wearing red. If we could go into the editor and makeadjustments to the sock and undershirt colors, this would resolve this problem. There are other teams as well, the Astros should have red under their alternates and the Nationals should have red under their road uniforms. The Braves old time uniform is pretty close to the alternate uniform they are wearing, if we could just change the sock color. If we could use the editor to assign these colors, it would fix the problem.

The Red Sox and the Mets wear anniversary patches and evenafter the first season, they continue to wear the patches. The editor would allow us to remove them at the end of the season.

If we could change the color of the jerseys in the editor,we would be able to create special jerseys some teams use. Boston has worn green uniforms on occasion for various reasons. Last year, the Brewers had that gold jersey.

Also, the batting helmet needs to match the hat. For some reason, the jersey dictates what helmet is worn. The Nationals wear 3 different helmets on the road and they mix and match them with different jersey. Eventhough they have been wearing the blue and red helmet for at least 2 years, it’s still not in the game. The blue and red hat is there but not the helmet. The Orioles helmet with the white front panel is not in the game. Just make a helmet to match each hat and let us assign the batting helmet that is worn inthe team editor. I’d like to be able to control the colors of the new catchers mask and not just have a standard color and select the helmet the catcher will wear in the field.

I realize they are supposed to follow the style guide, butif we could make edits, they can follow the style guide and we can make changes that are necessary. The editor is already available in the game for created teams, just make it useable for the MLB teams.

2 different batting stances for switch-hitters. For example: Matt Wieters has a normal stance righty, but an open stance lefty. Also, being able to argue calls with players/managers. Having control over what player at what time will charge the mound after a HBP. Being able to pull back on a drag bunt. Using all the players respective team's jersey in the all-star game. Change a lot of players batting stance/pitching windup. Overall though, this game is awesome.

Being able to negotiate contract extensions with players/managers/coaches mid-season in Franchise mode.
