If Chase says we can fine tune the rough edges till the game goes gold, fine. If not, oh, oh.

Heck, everyone that has been here awhile knows they can tweak after June 4th.
Heck, Everyone here know what you see is what you get in regards to EA's videos they put out around this time going back the previous 6 years. To be honest, we have no reason to believe the commentary will change between now and launch day.

I for one am tired of hearing "Wait until June 4th". The hell do I have to wait for? This product has been lackluster for the past 6 years and you (EA) want me to wait until a certain date to say "OMG..WHAT A TURN AROUND". BS! Show us from the gate that you stepped up to the plate with fantastic gameplay and top of the line commentary.

I'm just tired of it....

EA Sports Madden dev team said that they will impove the commentary yearly so it's won't get repetitive so that's a good thing.

I'm just tired of it....
Do you know for sure they stop programming the game from now until ship and beyond with patches?

If it's true, I'll agree.

I thought they keep programming till ship and beyond.

You are right, we can't bury M13...only if it is deserving. And we won't know until June and in August. I really do hope they pull it together and surprise us all with a massive overhaul, history however is not on their side. And especially when other sports games show their videos before their release dates and it's polished.

I'm sure much is tuned from now til whenever. I'm just trying to understand the folks that are yelling WIP behind every negative statement as if the vid wasn't posted for us to discuss.

The audio was bland & boring point blank period, so until we see something different it is what it is. EA has released these vids not to discourage or hype us but because "it’s in the game". Those boring calls will not be removed or fixed.
Yeah, that early build excuse doesn't fly with me anymore, and that applies to games not made by EA as well.

The videos I've seen so far for both football games have tempered my initial excitement. For me, the demos will be the true selling point.

But I don't understand some OS folks. This is a sports video game forum for us to discuss video games. The vid was posted here for us to discuss. Are we not supposed to voice our opinions because it's a WIP?

Is the only acceptable comment, "I'll wait for the retail version before I judge." Maybe next time they can post the vid, make that comment for us & lock the thread.
This ^. I'm baffled at how some people rationalize things. Not attacking, just really baffled. People say that Madden gets the most scrutiny of any game, but I have to disagree. It gets more leeway than any game out there.

Here is the question - if these videos were absolutely awesome, would people be saying the same thing? "Yes, they are great, but let's wait until they have had time to "tune" things before we make judgement." Come on guys, really? Why would you show something asking for feedback if it wasn't what it really is? "Hey guys, I want you to take a look and tell me what you think, but this isn't anything at all like what the final product is going to be like." What good is that? If it's not anything like the final product, why would you ask for feedback?

It's funny when people take the "what we see is what we get" to the extreme. lol

I completely agree that E3 normally follows that trend, with that build being pretty much what we can expect but not this early. Shopmaster tweeted something about there being like 15 builds of the game so, personally, E3 will be more of point of no return, imo.

That said, when I went back and looked at the video, there is indeed a lot "he" references and seemingly no player names. It made me think back to the commentary thread Chase started. http://www.operationsports.com/forum...post2043136672

I don't want either in a perfect world, but at the end of the day, I am a realist and accept we won't get full coverage on every name -- at least not in a way where every name said by the commentators would sound natural and good. Simply inserting "names" into sentences will sound bad on the whole.

Simply put, I would rather use a pronoun in a sentence that then sounds normal rather than plug a player's name into a sentence where it then sounds weird. (You see this in Madden with "ROMO! makes the play" and various other names.) Proper inflection comes first in my book, which means you have to record a player's name in an entire sentence rather than just read from a name bank (for the most part). This takes more time from the voice talent, and thus, you usually will get a bit less player coverage in terms of names said.
The commentary in the video was an improvement, imo, and I think in franchise mode, the storylines will seem more specific. I think people judging the overall effect of the commentary on early builds of Play Now games, is premature. To each their own though.
