Re: Madden NFL 12 Blog - Franchise Mode in Madden 12

Maybe I missed it, but I'm curious if the expanded rosters and fixed IR mean we'll get a practice squad as well? It mentions the rosters as a preseason function, but I'd like to be able to resign guys to a reserve squad at least.

It would also be nice if players in there developed (albeit at a slower rate perhaps) as well. I just would love to be able to pluck someone from there to fill in for some injuries and give them a shot. Even if it's not that deep and simply just a list of players, it'll be a start.

Either way, EA has done a good job of reinstating some last gen favs and adding some new depth and depth from HC. I'm actually looking forward to a Madden franchise mode for the first time in several years.

Because Cutler has the potential to be better. Sure, he probably wouldn't progress at the rate of say Cam Newton or Blaine Gabbert, but if the Bears EVER DECIDE to build around him, and he finally puts everything together ( ) , yet he had a C potential, he wouldn't be rewarded for his play. Remember, he's still only about 26 or 27, so an A potential isn't far fetched. Besides DeAngelo Hall, many think AND know he has the potential to be one of the best in the league, he just has to put it all together.

Yeah, I'd really like to know this too.

Some skeptics. I still want to see the finished product. How often have we been told things by companies, only to be seriously let down when the product rolls out.

That said, I, for one, am cautiously optimistic.

Excellent point. I just hope that it works the way they intend it to do so.

Re: Madden NFL 12 Blog - Franchise Mode in Madden 12

Being able to edit rookies in the draft classes is great, especially if it can be done with NCAA Football 12 classes. This means we can do our research (Basically putting Mel Kiper and Todd McShay's scouting reports to good use!) and edit the player traits of guys like Andrew Luck, LaMichael James, and so on, so forth. Looks like it's gonna be a good year for the sim gamer.

Great job EA. Stuck with you since Madden 2002 (Daunte Culpepper on the cover, was one of the best Madden's to come out, if not the best, to me.) and it's been a long time coming.

Re: Madden NFL 12 Blog - Franchise Mode in Madden 12

Man just way to many pages to read though. But overall I'm just so happy with all the upgrades to Franchise mode this year. Been able to trade future picks and the new FA bidding system and so on. So much to take in at this point in time. But I have to say to Josh great job on the blog bro. But I also want to think both Josh and Adem for the time they put into all this to make this franchise mode playable again. Thanks alot guys. The Future of Madden Franchise mode looks bright indeed.

The other end of that is that the life of a franchise is dynamic. Just because the 2001-2011 Patriots have the tendency to trade down and rack up draft picks does not mean that the 2025-2035 Patriots will behave the same way. Similarly, do we expect the 2025 Detroit Lions to draft like the Matt Millen-era Lions?

Not sure how - or if - you can build that sort of flow into a console franchise, but it would be fun.

Just the fact that we can finally trade future draft picks increases my interest in this game.
