Re: Madden NFL 12 Blog - Franchise Mode in Madden 12

I was pleased with the update, but I'd really like them to remove potential. It has no place once Dynamic Player Ratings is in. Or it should at least be scaled back to only effect DPR and how it quickly or slowly they progress in games because of their rating.

I really feel like the only reason they've focused on Franchise this year is because of the threat of the lockout, meaning that the stock no-matter-what rating improvements and regressions where going to be highlighted this year without an update to the ratings every week.

I really want to be convinced that player progression is actually working this year.

This all sounds great, and I appreciate the push they made this year, but it will all be for naught if it does not "Work" Together. Madden has kinda burned me a few times the past few years with freatures that didn't work properly or really didn't even work at all (IR)

Ill wait a few days for impressions.

It wasn't mentioned in this blog, but it was in the Superstar blog, so I just want to make sure it's not just for when you create your own player to use in Superstar mode
Yes it was, or at least strongly alluded to.

"We’ve also added tendency and trait progression to the game this year, so players actually change throughout your franchise. Some players stay the same (since that’s what defines them), while others will grow.

If a player is inconsistent as a rookie, they can become more consistent as they get older and mature (example: a QB sensing pressure better as they age)."

I'd imagine it would have to be in Franchise mode. Can't imagine a guy like Reggie Bush not playing any different from Michael Turner, or Michael Vick not playing differently from Tom Brady.

Loving all these changes, definitely getting the game day 1

Of course you'll get complaining. I wanted a lot features that are not listed here. Immersive stuff like halftime shows, pre and post game newspapers, highlight shows etc.
I'm a little disappointed that those things arent there, but there not here now and I still enjoy franchise mode. The added features will make me enjoy it more now.

Re: Madden NFL 12 Blog - Franchise Mode in Madden 12

Does anyone know if there still will be limit to draft picks this year?
Hate to sound like a broken record. I didnt like being limited to only 10 picks a draft.
It should be either unlimited or set to 15. Especially since there is 75 man roster to work with. Even though I may cut some of them on Cut Day to get my 53 man roster. IT adds depth

Regardless of WHY they focused on it, let's embrace the fact that it was INDEED addressed, and substantially at that. Better late than never.

Also, gameplay still hasn't been addressed publicly. I still do remember them mentioning different running styles, ala Reggie Bush versus the high-and-tight, like Tiki Barber.
