I've done this as well. Now I make a conscious effort to keep my finger away from the L2 button.

Since the demo only allows us to roll with the respective number ones, I wonder, if my results were worse, if I would consider analog pitching too unrealistic.

Oh, and it's nice to see you back on the Show boards Swaldo.
Thanks man. Every time I say I'm done with the demo a little voice pops in my head that says things like "Go give analog pitching another try" LOL. And I'm starting to like it and perhaps that's what I'll go with in the retail version. I do want to play one game and throw nothing but meatballs just to see what happens.

Also, someone else said they are using auto fielding with manual throwing so I tried it. That's definately the way to go for me and am starting to get into fielding now. At first I thought it was too complex or something but I'm getting a feel for it. Pro Yakyuu has a really neat fielding practice mode where you can tell the CPU to hit the ball to specific or random locations. You can also put men on base to replicate tight situations. I spent hours setting up trajectory, power & direction then diving at balls off the wall. I think something like that would be really great for this game to learn the nuances of defense.

Also, I wish I could "auto field" the infielders and "manual field" with outfielders. For example, on one play the CPU swung and bounced one right in front of the plate and I thought the pitcher was going to field it so I jammed the stick down. However the catcher ended up fielding it so he ended up running backwards Now I'm aware when balls are in between like that you want the catcher to take care of business; but in my mind I thought the momentum of the ball would carry to the pitcher. I have a good handle on working the outfield, but those "right in between" plays in the infield are tough because you have to operate fast.

I just made a similar post in this thread about wishing for a non-RTTS fielding practice.

Seriously, in the field, I have like the reflexes of my 80 year old grandmother. Auto field/Manual throw for me.

Now, if I had the option to spend some serious time practicing it outside of a game time situation, I would love to be able to shake some of the 'sucky' out. Until then, I've got some hitting practice to do. Uh, a lot of it.

Here's a picture of Beltre fielding a ball that was hit right down the 3rd base line. He sprinted over, backhanded it, twisted his body around while jumping in the air and momentum carrying him backwards. Amazingly, he somehow made this play for the out. (His feet were about 3-4 feet off the ground which you can't see in this image.)

I carefully estimated the distance of his throw:

3rd base to 1st base = 127.28 ft
Betre's arm was 29 ft from the 3rd base bag
The first baseman's glove was 7.4 feet from the 1st base bag.

Total distance of throw = 150 ft
Time of throw from Beltre's hand to 1st basemens glove: 1.6 seconds

Add all this up and he threw that ball 64 MPH with perfect accuracy (but the ball did bounce once.) And that's not counting the 18 MPH wind in his face. EDIT: Actually it was approximately 75 mph due to muzzle velocity - see my post on next page.

And I'm not complaining or trying to be nit-picky, I'm just curious what you guys think. Is this possible? Do you think arm power & accuracy should be tweaked after seeing this? Any physics experts in the house?

I was Wondering if anyone else felt like every year When the Demo Comes out it has a different feel to it then the retail version. for me its shows in hitting for some reason in the Demo i just can not pick up the ball all that well but when the retail version comes out its more fluid more smooth and i Rake even on Legend. Is this just me or anyone else feel this way?

LOL, it was pretty easy because he's right in line over the 3rd base bag. If he were in some random spot I wouldn't even bother trying to estimate distance.
