Other than inbounding the ball, do your teammates ever pass to you in Become Legendary? And I mean pass to you without manually asking for the ball. Getting kinda annoying.

Pros - Cons

Pros

It's a change of pace!

Crowd looks amazing!

Commentary is the best in series to date! Love the overall excitement during game. Stadium sounds are great as well. Glad they didn't strip that out from 10. But improved on it.

Cons

Passing with right trigger is terrible and has a major delay to it. Tried using icon passing with R1 and still icons popped up fast, but once selected the icons disappear in milliseconds and the pass turns into something ugly.

(Graphics are terrible) Anyone who has played Live over the last few series on XBOX 360 and PS3. Will noticed they went back to the Live 07 player models with lower framed textures. Some of the models are damn near identical to NBA 08 and 09 the inside. Down to the Kobe, Bynum and Ray Allen models. It's very noticeable. Sidelines look worse and so does the stadium details, looks like they completely removed the staples center from NBA Live 10 and put an older version in.

(Examples)(FAIR COMPARISON)

NBA Live 10 - Xbox 360

NBA Elite 11 - Xbox 360

Gameplay!!! While the developers think this change is good, I think it made controls more complicated and very annoying. At the pace the game moves, the response time during movement is beyond delayed and late reactions, cause easy buckets for the CPU.

A.I. seems to be dumber even on harder levels. Offensive rebounds are out of hand on CPU end, player controlled team seems to be ignorant to ball recognition. They just stand there, and numerous times I ran a guy towards the basket and he still wouldn't reach for the rebound. Other times, I would go for post moves and I could never get the guy to take the shot. Kept moving around like he was trying to fake the defender. Even got numerous traveling calls, because the player wouldn't release the ball.

Become Legendary Mode, still has that same terrible default create-a-player model that has been in the game since Live 07. Hook nose, beety eyes, and Lamar Odom onion head. Sadly enough trying to edit him in the final version, will most likely be the same when trying to create-a-player in previous games. He'll look the same no matter what, so I'll pass on that too.

As a longtime fan, I can't see myself playing this game a full season, worse enough a month in. Will still buy on discount, but definitely not a day 1 purchase.

Thanks to all the developers, especially rEAnimator, blackflash, stepsix and the others who have taken time to share thoughts and opinions. I really appreciate you guys on OS. And I apologize for finally leaving the series, as a basketball player, and a gamer. This just isn't basketball too me and outside of the logos and sound effects this isn't NBA Basketball.

I pray you guys will improve during your 3 year cycle and I wish you the best, and I really hope you bring NCAA Basketball series back, without these controls. And go from there!

Final Impressions! Take Care Guys!
You should put your comparison video into a blog for everyone to see just how much different both games are from each other.

I'm not leaving the series though I'm just gonna go back to NBA live 10

The shooting is by far the best yet. I hit two game winners. 1st over John Wall with my player and the next over paul peirce with kobe. and let me say this. "I made them shots not the cpu or other factors.

I strongly believe that when everybody gets good. elite will be respected more amoung the sim ballers.
I agree.

I only wish the CPU offensive AI was more consistant...it goes back and forth between 'Great' and 'Crackhead Basketball'

Im processing a commentary video of a overtime game I had about an hour ago, which will show this clearly.

WoW Not feeling this change at all! I played Live 10 more then nba 2k10 last year. Why couldn't they build on last years game and make it better. The passing is not good at all using R2! It just look like a mess when i was playing. Maybe i need more games to understand the controls.

They had something going last year and should have build off of it. They have went backwards. What made nba live 10 good for me is it was JUST FUN!!!! This Demo is not fun at all to me. Very Disappointed

Umm...any explanation for this? Is this going to happen in the retail version or was it fixed?

Skip to :20. I can tolerate odd animations, but hook shots from the 3 point line are simply unrealistic.

Even though this game is defintely not my ideal NBA game, and I will not be purchasing it...I played live for a long time before I touched 2k, and I hope with this framework next years game can work out the quirks. Much respect to all the NBA elite devs and the rest of the team for sharing their opinions and interacting with the fans.

Is this game serious?!?! lol wow what a joke, I mean I like the idea of the full control dribbling, but what player actually takes a jump shot and ends up 5 feet to the right or left. Jumpshots are terrible, gameplay is not really anything to brag about....EA just give up and focus on other sports...NBA 2k11 is leaps and leaps and leaps ahead of anything you'll ever be able to put out on the market.

If you had to buy a basketball game this year, NBA 2k11 is def. the best way to go!

Re: NBA Elite 11 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here (PS3, 360)

i am a firm believer that AI in this game can be edited to play basketball and do it very well...

i wish i had time to make vids of 09 and 10 of where i got them to in terms of gameplay...

HOWEVER logic in terms of broken and unrealistic animations and non context animations cannot be edited....

i am playing this demo and i am saying to myself if this or this animation gets REMOVED this situation would have been expressed better.

i think from what i have seen there is enough here to make a solid bball game but someone needs to get a list of the un sim broken animations and go in and remove them

if 5 of them were removed this game could be way better.

Re: NBA Elite 11 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here (PS3, 360)

#1 How many times is the damn jesus video going to be brought up? One glitch a guy caught on tape and everyone brings it up. HOW MANY OF YOU HAD IT HAPPEN TO YOU?????
#2 Going back a few months I remember the developers saying somewhere that they wanted to go back to what was one of the most enjoyable Live games in there minds, Live 2005, and start over from there with the Elite series. That right there, to me, tells me they wanted to bring the fun back to basketball games before they nailed down the sim aspects of the game. Thats exactly what they did with this first outing...Go fire up Live 2005 and tell me if it had all the sim features that everyone whats in todays basketball games? No it doesnt, but its fun as hell to play...isnt it??? If we want a sim game we have 2K for that but I'll tell you what, I might have more fun just playing a mindless up and down the court, breaking guys ankles with awsome controls and jumpin 54" inches in the air, good time game like Elite.
Now I'm not saying Elite is better than the "other" game but it is it's own game, and I feel we need to treat it as such this year and maybe next as not a contender for a basketball sim, but as an all out fun game to play. I'm still getting both games this year like always and when I need a break from all the worrying about running an offense, setting up rotations and all the other sim stuff, I will pop in Elite and have a good time with it.
One more note, I believe this is the same way people felt about NHL 07 when they changed the game up and I believe some people (writers, reviewers, web sites) Called it the sports game of the year in 2010!!! Just keep that in mind for Elite.
