The game itself is fun, but I would at least wait and see if things are ironed out(love MST3K btw). I don't doubt that they'll at least patch Dynasty up to a point where it might not be perfect, but at least better then it's right now. It just depends on how long that takes, and how long peoples patience will last

I saw the notes for the "update 2" from EA on the site. I didn't see anything about fixing progression. So I'm not going to make some long winded post about how I hate EA for the exclusivity for NCAA (and Madden). But it's times like this when EA should understand why we have had issue with the deals for NCAA and Madden. There was a time when someone could post "OMG, I just found out the Dynasty is broken... check this out everyone"... and then we can say "okay EA we understand things get missed, either fix it or I can go buy a diff NCAA game". But we really don't have that power now. Anything they fix is soley out of the kindness of thier own heart. Granted its something that should have been done right before the game shipped. It's like a spouse cheating on his wife and he says "well it could be worse, I could cheat on you AND beat you every night".

Truth is, if EA fixes this issue..I mean TRULY fixes it (fix does not mean give us a user driven work-around) then I will give EA props for fixing an issue they really didn't have to because they already got our money. If they don't fix it then It will just show you what kind of company they are and just add more fire and ammo to all of us which are not in favor of their exclusivity deals (id say that's probably everyone that does NOT work at EA).

Now let's say EA relased a final build of the game out to some of the press a month out. Lets say someone from the press found out about this issue and spoke to it in thier "hands on/impressions" articles. You think EA would fix it then? You bet your azz they would because the game hasnt come out yet and people are already aware of an issue that would keep a good number of people from buying the game. So actually let's touch on that part of the issue as well. Let's talk about the press/media coverage.... follow me people....

Every single "hands on/impression" article I have read from gaming sites and magazines all do the same thing. They touch on the new features/gimmicks EA has put in thier game for the year. I understand why they do that. 1. We as the consumer want to know whats up with the "new stuff" EA is touting in thier marketing campaigns. 2. I'm sure some get talking points from EA, Im guessing something along the lines of "if we give you a hands on copy, make sure you mention the new stuff". Again, I understand that. Don't even have a problem with that. So then further in these articles some of the writers actually have the balls to point out some things that aren't so great about the games (Pointing out that in Madden, franchise mode was virtually untouched is a good example), and I applaud these writers for pointing these things out as it will help some of us make a more informed decision come purchase time. For some its a deal breaker, for others not so much due to maybe they just wanna play online. But what I don't hardly EVER see in a final build hands on article is where the writer actually took the time to do his/her own QA of the game. Now I'm not expecting any writer to QA the game like a full time QA employee would at EA, however has anyone out there ever read a hands on/pre-release article where they find something thats actually BROKEN in the game and made it known to the public? Nope. I think part of this comes from some writers don't go that far in thier hands on time with the game. Part of it is also that while some do, and might have seen that issue... they are not going to point something like that out to the public before the game launches. Im not saying EA and other big name publishers have the press in thier back pocket but you can't help but feel sometimes that there are talks that we dont know about between game publishers and the media. They need each other, it's a relationship.

Just once I would love to see a QA hand's on so someone can write about something like this big issue with Dynasty mode. I think it helps the consumers because I truly believe if enough press came about it before launch, EA would have either fixed it in the final build AND made a public statement about it or at least told they public right after launch they knowledge the issue and will be fixing it.

But this all brings me back to the exclusivity deals. If there were competition, I doubt this thread would have even had to exist.

Our first LTP should be arriving next week along with detailed notes on what the update contains. I can tell you that based on the collective feedback we've received, we will be carefully down-tuning the athleticism of defensive lineman and reduce the number of impressive picks by the big guys. We're also looking to address a few important dynasty progression and recruiting issues.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

I wonder if these problems exist on the PS2 version. I wasnt happy with NCAA 2010 for the PS3 but was very satisfied with NCAA football 2009 for the PS2. I didnt realize any such problems on the PS2.

The great thing about current gen consoles is the ability to patch things via PSN or XBL. I loved my PS2 as well, but sadly I think you're going to get the short end of the stick when it comes to this patch/fix.

Re: NCAA's Broken Dynasty Mode -- Another reason we need a revolution

Mod's,

I'm curious why this thread is allowed to stay open when other's of the similiar nature are being locked left and right? That's a good thing!!!

It's already been established that some gamer's feel this game is broken or in need of a patch to fix, so why allow this subject to be continued through this thread.

The statement was made about a month or two ago, that an effort to clean up the site of complaining was going to be made. Well, why not start here by locking this thread?

The subject has been expressed in every imaginable way to the point that it's no longer informative information or a voicing for game improvement, but posturing for more complaining.

Yeah but it is a point that needs to be addressed. EA keeps messing up the game somehow and we are the ones to get the shaft.

Like I always say, if there was competition, we wouldn't have as many problems. Competition breeds excellence.

Re: NCAA's Broken Dynasty Mode -- Another reason we need a revolution

What's amazing to me is that fans have played through 4 to 7 years of dynasties within 3 weeks of the game's release. But the testers who spent the last 6 months working on this game didn't see these issues coming. Which makes me wonder, are the testers playing the game "differently" from typical fans? Are fans simulating more or are the testers? And isn't this "phenomenon" to combat the very high ratings from years past? I remember way back '07 (which seems like an eternity ago) when you would play well into the dynasty (12 or 15 years), schools like Rice would rise up because of default dedicated passing attack.

If the best team in the nation is rated B- or C+, are they playing C+ ball? What do the team stat rankings look like? These are the things we should be focusing on. For example, last season, Case Keenum led the nation with 44 TD passes. But when I play NCAA (from years 07 to 10), there would be more than 5 QB's with 40+ TD passes. That's unrealistic. Maybe that's why the ratings are so low. The numbers have to be kept in perspective.
