Yeah they had a nice tech demo a while back on Youtube, with a nicely detailed Dewayne Wade, showing eye contact and awareness to ball movement. I really hope they implement that into Elite 11.

Not to mention, that art style of player model was beautiful.

We could have released beautiful videos of canned mocap anims and just talked about control. But that would have been disingenuous.

All I ask is that you not judge us completely until you're picked up a controller and felt the improvements. The demo will be enough for you to understand what we're talking about.

If you still don't like it, so be it.

But understand the tradeoff between look and feel, and appreciate how early in development we're releasing these videos.

Thanks.
Well, we want the game to look good too. I'd rather sacrifice a little control for a good looking game than endure terrible animations to cater for these new controls. I'm really not buying into this "wait until you try the demo" talk, if you're going to show us videos (even in their early state) we should be seeing something that looks like real basketball.

We can have all the control in the world but if the finished product looks anything like these wip videos than it counts for naught. I understand the trade off but I'd rather play a game that resembles real basketball and sacrifice some control, eg NBA2K10.

I hear what you're saying.

This is one of the biggest problems with video games, and sports video games in particular. Everyone wants total control and perfect looking animations, but you really can't have both. It's a trade-off and finding the right balance is very difficult.

We are putting more emphasis on control this year, and trying to make the game look as good as possible given the level of control you get.

The videos are meant to explain that so people know what they'll be getting, and also get people's reactions to the changes so we can make some late adjustments.

We hear your concerns about the visual quality of the animations, and we will do our best to address them. But we are not going to sacrifice the main pillar of the game this year which is control. Until you feel the difference that makes in the game, you're only getting half the picture.

I just want you to try it before you write it off. If you don't like the demo, then there's no harm done right?

Yes, the meter will go at different speeds for those players because of their signature shot animations.

Lol well thats what you got NBA 2K11 for haha! its great to have options. Honestly I'm all about the game playing like real life so this is the game I'm leaning towards.

I can take a game where the animations look a lil off if as long its not doing anything to ruin the experience gameplay wise (ie glitches or cheesing). If I play a game with a friend that has the intensity and pressure of a real bball game I'll be good.

I obviously don't want the game to look like absolute crap but hey if it controls well and it require bball knowledge/fundamentals to be successful im down to play. Because in the end thats what's going to keep me goin.

If I don't feel like I can control my player like I can on the real court I'm going to have a problem plain and simple. In real life my success/failures are usually determined by my output so which ever game can reflect that the most im playing it.

My first priority is to feel like the player then we can move onto the player actually looking like himself on the court. If I don't feel like I have the speed of Westbrook or the strength of Shaq then I'm not goin to care if it looks that way necessarily.

The feel has to be there because when its not there it makes the game seem a lil empty to me..
