I am not sure how it's a close call though.

I don't either. People should just call a spade - a spade.

Re: The Show vs. 2K: MLB Grudge Match

It's a subjective opinion really. I think the vast majority of people would prefer the Show so that probably doesn't make it a close call. I don't subscribe to that but I do understand it.

You could set up a checklist of baseball things and how each game handles them and the Show would win most of those battles. But there are a few areas where MLB 2K10 is better.

MLB 2K10 definitely has the Show beat in one area - price! Amazon.ca has it for only $23.99 right now. I'm guessing the lack of sales will keep this game in the bargain bin for awhile.

Re: The Show vs. 2K: MLB Grudge Match

Well everything that needed to be said about both games have probably already been stated. I've played both titles this year but only own The Show, and while I love how the game handles stats and the realism of baseball, I've started to get tired of the random results when playing, and it sometimes feel like I have little control over certain events. It's gotten to where anything can happen in the last few innings regardless of how good or bad my input is. And although I can appreciate the AI not making it easy, I wish it wouldn't be so punishing at times, especially with closers. I still prefer it to 2k10 but I will certainly be watching 2k's efforts next year for something new.
