How do you race a time trial with a car from your garage?

For instance, I wanted to race the Ring with a Corvette that I bought. The only time trial I see is the Leaderboard option. So I select S Class and Nurburgring, but it seems like I can only select a stock car to race with. I know this can't be the case because I see times up there with cars that definitely aren't stock S Class.

Would you be interested in making the Columbus Blue Jackets logo, pic below? I attempted it in Forza 2 and never could get it. I can do simple stuff if I have enough time or patience. LOL But never did for the more complicated stuff.
