wow that kind of sucks. And the inability to filter anything below A sucks as well, I really enjoyed racing a variety of classes and having different cars in each class set up for different courses.

Unless you have a friend that has one and is kind enough to gift it to you, your only hope is to see one on the auction house and place the winning bid.

For you guys with the wheel, how do you have it set up? Did you build some sort of platform for it or something?

Re: Forza 3 Discussion...

I have a wheelstand pro I got off ebay. Got a good deal and it came with two mounts - one for the MS wheel and one for the Logitech. With the flip of a quick release I can pull the top post and mount out of the base and swap in the other wheel.

I run the MS wheel in front of the TV with one of those Ikea poang chairs. It has a brace that holds the pedals in place and it works fine with my logitech but the MS pedals are too wide for the brace so I have some heavy duty velcro strips that I secure them with. They are pretty stable without it but just to be on the safe side.

Also just saw a pretty good looking home made PVC stand today on Kotaku. If you are handy it is probably a good way to save money.

I made a custom oak table for mine, it doubles as an end table when not in use with the 360. It's a tolerable solution, but it doesn't allow for a comfortable seating position, especially with the array of chairs my wife will let me keep in the living room.

My goal is to buy a Playseat Evolution and attach a Buttkicker subwoofer to its frame. I got to experience a setup like that a couple of months ago and it made me want to throw rocks at my setup. I can't begin to describe how much a tailored driving seat, with pedals and wheel at a proper angle, accented by the rumble coming through the frame of the seat, makes racing games a more sensual experience. I had no idea how much I was missing until I got to try this out. It'll cost me between $375 to $400 to get that setup, but there's no doubt in my mind that it's worth it!

Naturally, it won't go in my living room with my wife's blessing, but I have a rec room upstairs where it will be an asset... thankfully, I've got two XBox 360's

Re: Forza 3 Discussion...

Che from T10 has just confirmed that the playlist are here to stay but they do expect to at least get a hardcore mode in there shortly.

He also confirmed the tuning option for online play will be fixed in a title update that sould be within the next weeks. He did not say if it would be for all online games or just private.

So a little bit of good news. Wonder if part of T10s motivation to remove custom public matches is the same as Infinity Wards - to control the DLC. Like Halo 3 it could reach a point where you would almost be forced to buy the DLC tracks to participate in the ranked public races.

sounds like it, which is unfortunate. I really liked the way the online was setup in Forza 2 where you could customize nearly everything about a race. It made it especially fun when you found a good group of people and stayed in the lobby doing race after race after race with different classes, setups, etc.

I'm pretty positive that you can still make custom games man.
