Re: NCAA Football 10 Demo Now Available, Post Your Impressions Here

I don't like the new camera angle myself. Zoomed out to far as previously mentioned.

Also it's like there are only two types of passes in the demo. High and floating or a bullet pass.

There is no more lobbing pass right into the hands of the receiver, or the in between pass strength as in earlier versions of the game.

Another thing I've noticed is that when I am flushed out of the pocket and the receiver icons disappear, I can zip the ball right into the players hands I want to.

However there have been many times that the receiver has been wide open with and no pocket pressure and the ball is either over thrown every single time, or the receiver never makes the effort to catch the ball.

It sure is hard has hell to run the ball now. I think most of my rushing yards came from the one HB toss I was able to break for 40 yards in one game. Besides that the majority of the rushing yards I got were with Tebow when things broke down and I had to scramble for it.

I do not like the new QB sneak on the goal line. It should be renamed to QB trip and fall on his face.

One of the games I drove down the field with little time left on the clock, about 30 seconds maybe. 4th and goal, literally and inch from going in. Game score is OU 21 UF 14.

I call QB sneak and what does Tebow do? Catches the snap and then basically falls down flat on his face. No dive forward, no effort to push forward. It was like someone yanked his legs out from underneath him from behind.

Cost me the game in that one. Sucks because the O-Line got a great push and he should have made it in with ease. Subsequent QB sneaks have had similar results.

Other than those few issues, the game is much improved. Kick returning is harder now as it was just too easy to in 09 to bring it to the house. I notice more fair catches than in 09 as well.

In 09, I could kick it to the back of the endzone and the returner would always try to bring it out. Now if it is too far back they call for the FC.

Defense is much improved. Man to man is back. Most of the games I played I was able to hold OU to 3 and out on almost every drive.

The Option appears to be broken however. I get no blocking and it seems it takes forever for the HB to get into postion to take the pitch. I seems like the blockers just stand still while I'm running it and I get no where with it.

All in all I understand it's the demo and I hope the full version is more polished.

My first impression of the demo is that it was decent for a demo, that's it. I just can't get any real good read on the game as a whole with 2 min qtrs. I really liked 09's demo and ended up very frustrated with the actual game though.

If the sliders actually work, and I mean really work where there is a huge difference betwen a 0 and 99 slider, I think I would buy the game. Unlike in previous years I'm not going to buy the game on day 1 to find out.

I agree, i also had trouble with hail mary's getting my QB to just launch a high prayer. He would throw a linedrive most of the time. But they to bring back the softer passes like the lob or the softer bullet.

I took a nice one to the house with Florida, Brandon James, but i got a couple nice blocks, made a move, broke a tackle, made another move and was off to the races.

Based on this comment wouldnt that put NCAA a year behind?

Am I the only one who thinks that I've been sacked when my controller starts vibrating from the pressure. Distracts my attention away from finding an open receiver.

Lots of success getting pressure with 5-2 MLB Storm Blitz. I've been terrorizing Sam Bradford all morning with Brandon Spikes.

I like it, actually. Since there's more pressure this year, it acts like a danger sense for your QB.

Re: NCAA Football 10 Demo Now Available, Post Your Impressions Here

Played the demo. Put it on Heisman and I wasn't really impressed. Felt like the same game as last year with a few exceptions.

I'll list the positives:

+ It didn't feel WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDE OPEN
+ The AI covered the crossing route and the FB in the flat
+ Human run game seemed decent I saw holes opening up and was able to rush 4 or 5 yards a pop. Broke a 25 yarder 1st play of the game.
+ They tackled me both times I picked off the ball
+ AI threw deep

Negatives:
- FG's are still WAAAAAAAY too easy in fact automatic
- AI run game was non-existant
- AI was still throwing 1 pick per game. 2 minute quarters = 4 picks per game. Possible game killer again.
- AI Punting - Still kicks the ball right into the endzone from the opponents 40 instead of trying to down it deep or coffin corner.
- Felt stiff or sluggish. The passes just don't feel right, especially the long ball.
- Easily broke the pocket rolled outside the pocket and completed curls and slants easily.
- QB sneak is going to be unstoppable from 1 yard or less.

The series just feels stale. There was nothing real exciting about the game. Hopefully thats just because of the 2 minute quarters.

I'll buy it for the online dynasty, but I don't see myself sitting down and playing this every day.
