With the new QB ratings for how accurate each QB is while throwing on the run, I think the game will handle this well. Oh wait. That's in Madden and not NCAA.

This is true. There is no right or wrong in this argument. Refs and chain gangs do not impact gameplay much (there IS gameplay team work involved though). The real cost of adding them is in stuff like memory finding, CPU profiling, rendering, and other technical things of that nature. The artwork is as simple as changing some textures on the Madden versions.

So why aren't they in? It is just like everything else that is or is not in the game. We have X number of hours to spend on the game every year. Each feature/task/fix takes Y number of hours. We come up with Z number of these work items. So we cut until Y*Z <= X.

Every year there is a lot of great stuff that is left on the cutting room floor. Cutting designs to get within budget is the hardest part of the design team's job. And just like on this board, there isn't always a consensus on what is a higher priority.

I understand the disappointment many of you feel for things that aren't being included in NCAA, especially when they ARE being included on Madden. Trust me, I share the disappointment with you guys on many things (and less on others).

I know many of you will disagree with our design decisions and that is completely understandable. Just realize that we have a finite amount of time to complete the game, and we don't leave things out due to incompetence or laziness.

I'm pretty sure we've had double team blocks since NCAA 08. I'd check but my 360 is fried and I'm waiting on IT to get me a new one.

I would hope double team blocks has received a tweak when the whole OL/DL INA got tweaked. Im sure you cant comment but will it be something we control or will it be something that happens on its own? And if it does happen on its own what will decide who and when players get doubled?

My question is how much do you guys(NCAA) keep in touch with the Madden guys about what there putting in so comparisons like these wont be a problem? You guys are pretty much the only competition to each other so as long as you guys have the exclusive deals those comparisons will be there.

IMO I think stuff like mascouts ,wideopen gameplay ,and entrances is better for NCAA while things like New Qb ratings ,On field refs, and/or dreads/long hair should be in both. I also would like things like weapons/impact players to be revamped or removed(mostly removed IMO). But I think both games should be more uniformal. I think it would help sell for both games if they were more uniformal then they are now. Im sure a lot more Madden only buyers would come aboard if the games had more similarities

We certainly work with them and share where we can, and you will see that in some new stuff we haven't announced yet. At the same time, there is also a desire by EA to not have the games be identical.

How much influence does the actual NCAA have in how you program your game? I've heard that the major sports (NFL, NCAA, etc.) have a bigger impact than we realize on game design.

They don't tell us what to do, but they certainly tell us what we can't.
