Should I just lower CPU offensive awareness, or lower the level to All-Star or Superstar and raise the CPU defensive awareness?

A lower level gives the CPU less of an urgency to find the "perfect" shot. On the higher difficulty levels, they will find that shot much more often, as well as contest better, almost to the point where it feels unrealistic IMO.

The game, IMO, plays the best on Pro. This was pre-patch though and I haven't really had the time to check it out much post-patch. Raise your foul sliders (to at least 65 for all of them, some more than others), raise the commit fouls slider slightly, drop Dunks in Traffic to about about 30, drop the CPU's "finish strong" slider about 5 points, raise the CPU defensive awareness and *possibly* lower the shooting sliders down to about 42, 47, 45 (close, med, 3pt) and you should be set.

There are other issues that need to be addressed (like too many perfect passes) but sliders can't really help this year. You end up messing up other aspects of the game.

I'm sure they will get looked at for next year though.

A lower level gives the CPU less of an urgency to find the "perfect" shot. On the higher difficulty levels, they will find that shot much more often, as well as contest better, almost to the point where it feels unrealistic IMO.

The game, IMO, plays the best on Pro. This was pre-patch though and I haven't really had the time to check it out much post-patch. Raise your foul sliders (to at least 65 for all of them, some more than others), raise the commit fouls slider slightly, drop Dunks in Traffic to about about 30, drop the CPU's "finish strong" slider about 5 points, raise the CPU defensive awareness and *possibly* lower the shooting sliders down to about 42, 47, 45 (close, med, 3pt) and you should be set.

There are other issues that need to be addressed (like too many perfect passes) but sliders can't really help this year. You end up messing up other aspects of the game.

I'm sure they will get looked at for next year though.
Thanks for your insight...last year I played on Pro and I loved it. My sliders were perfect....some games I would win by 20, some I would lose by 20...it's too bad every year we have to keep tweaking the sliders...you think 2K would figure out what plays a great game of basketball....they have everything else done right in the game, why can't they get it to play exactly like basketball?

Well, I forgot to include that those are all the things the CPU are doing, except for the fouls.

In practice mode, I had Gasol pick up his dribble, I stood in front of him with Sheed and swiped 5 times. 3 times Sheed's hands went straight thru the ball and arms of Gasol, one time thru his face and the last time a foul.

One instance made me almost turn the game off, CPU picked up a loose ball and threw a perfect oop.

That really depends on your style and level of play, post patch. Right now I'm finding All Star to be a shade on the easy side, but it's not unrealistic at all. I'm going to test Superstar after I rack up a few more of these achievements I've been ignoring.

This is all pretty much spot on. There are more errant passes post patch, so far on All Star. All Star is more realistic now than it was before the patch. Even when they contest shots, they don't magically find the ball every time. If they are out of position, they are out of luck, and that feels more natural than people turning around running, leaping and getting a hand on the ball all in one morphing motion.

Mid range jumpers are easier if you're wide open. Tougher if contested. Right now I'm shooting a pretty high percentage on All Star, and OS Vets can tell you that my shooting with the Spurs was nothing to brag about(sans Timmy, who is everything to brag about).

Pared, I'm seeing more bad passes post patch by the CPU. KG threw it out of bounds(!) and Rondo threw it at someone's foot.

Isomotion does feel much easier and smoother. I wasn't bad at it before by any stretch, but now I'm not seeing any errant animations at all. I might upload some pretty crazy Kobe replays to show what I mean. He's abusing Ray right now, LOL.
