Like I said in my previous post, you can tweak the User and CPU Strength sliders. Although some people don't like to change everything, this does impact the post game and the ability to back down players in the appropriate situations based on size / attributes / post defense and offense skills. A bunch of people have tried this out and had success.

Pared--Yeah, I'm playing on default. I think my foul sliders are higher, from the last time I changed my settings, but all of the sliders are default besides that. There are a lot of really nice things going on. They fixed most of the stuff that really annoyed me, and the post game is more honest now. Their solution wasn't perfect, but I'll take it for now, over the hall of famers that were on every roster at the 5 spot pre-patch.

What they should have done was make the back down animation take longer when you are far from the paint, so if you tried to power from the wing all the way into the paint, you'd get a 3 second call, but functionally I think this works fine. Bottom line: if you don't establish position, you can't play back to the basket. The execution isn't great, but fundamentally that's how it should be.

"I had 82 points on 47% FG.
They had 81 points on 46% FG
I was 5/19 from 3 point land
They were 4/14
I had 42 points in the paint
They had 43 points in the paint."

What was LeBron's line?

How much different is this game after the patch? I am on PS3, and I am not noticing too much different....I see fewer jump balls, and more blocks...that's about it....aside from the post up....

I think they made the game easier. Might have to ramp up your sliders to be pro A.I. more. Just too easy to score right now.

You can't start posting up with bigs outside on the perimeter post-patch.
Yep, now its catch in the paint, an auto post move move kicks in a lot of the time(especially when its a serious mismatch), take your shot in the rhythm of the move. Or its catch in the paint one or two quick back down dribbles, make a move. If your ratings and close success sliders are solid, then scrubs will have a very tough time scoring in the post.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

This is the first post I've seen mention the jump balls. (Yes, I've read the entire thread.) Can players actually break through or at least pass out of the double teams once in a while?

Re: NBA 2K9 Patch Released For 360/PS3, Impressions Here

just want to share my two games with the post-patch (plus i did tried the help defense sliders for both at 0, just to check if the rumors are true)...
heat 81 (cpu) - raptors 98 (me)
fg: 33/81 (40%) - 36/81 (44%)
3pt: 5/23 (21%) - 8/18 (44%)
ft: 10/11 - 18/19
ast: 29 - 25 (wade had 5 ast due to kickouts to the open man who was left undefended because the defender helped on d against wade... cool)
turnovers: 10 - 3 (due to intercepted passes from kickouts)
fouls: 11 - 6
reb: 39 - 36
oreb: 11 - 7
stl: 2 - 10
blk: 8 - 8
pip: 40 - 38 (not bad because cpu used to have it at 70% of his total points and most of these came from putbacks)
bench: 11 - 20
2nd chance: 11 - 7
fastbreak: 20 - 14 (cool, the fastbreak has definitely been fixed)

notable performances:
calderon: 17P, 8A, 5/6 3PT
bosh: 27P, 6R, 11/17 fg (player of the game)
oneal: 15P, 8R, 4B

wade: 24P, 5R, 5A, 10/17 fg
marion: 20P, 8R, 2S, 2B, (8/17) (he shot numerous times from within the arc area, thats why he got low fg%)
chalmers: 9P, 13A (assist glitch still there, so annoying)

game was tied at the half, but raptors rallied on the 3Q thanks to bosh performance. for this game, the help d backward slider seemed to work fine because ive seen double teams, guards going for on-ball steal while bosh was posting up, cpu doing kickouts, and even my players are doing double teams without me calling for it... sweet! another thing, ive seen 2 jumpballs due to double team...

im using tomba 2k9 set at all-star (8mins) with game speed at 40. some were saying that the help d at 0 works and some said not. maybe its because of the roster and sliders that they were using, i think.
