So this means EA had better get it right with this patch. I really just want them to fix the robo-qb, AI, CPU running OOB and any freezing and player progression issues.

They have released the details of patch 2. It is assumed that any additional bugs or gameplay issues wont be addressed until Madden 2010.

What I don't understand is why they don't hold off on the patch until more issues can be addressed, since this is going to be the last one.

Are you sure about this? I could've sworn that there was at least one year, which I thought was 07, where EA did charge for alternate uni's in Madden and stadiums in NCAA? And if that is the case M$had the ultimate say so to put the\at stuff on Marketplace. I also know for a FACT that EA had DLC guns and money for The Godfather and maxed out players and extra courses (when there weren't many to begin with) in one of the Tiger games.

If I remember correctly all of this stuff was released and then there was a public outcry over how ridiculous it was. Then and only then did M$ release a statement that they thought the practice was unfair. BUt they are the one's that released it.

because it cuts into both the development time and budget of 2010.

It's a fine line to walk. As it is now, the second patch is coming out in mid-September (a full month after release). I love Madden '09, but I'm not sure I'm willing to wait quite so long for the last update.

I'm also keeping my fingers crossed that Sony and MS will "approve" the DLC.

Ian, will the patch fix the freezes in...

Franchise games on the play caling screen?
Play Now games on the play calling screen?
Training?

All of the above and others that have been mentioned (online, etc)?
