I sure hope EA does not put this on the shelves and try and sell us on the fact this is a solid sim college football game. Don't get me wrong, it is not bad, but it is a long shot when it comes to football. Everything from the redundant solo tackles to the game speed is not up to par. Even the booth review is wayyyyy off the mark and out of sync with what is going on, on the field. Please stop the wining excuse it is on varsity. Varsity has nothing to do with the animation and over gameplay. Let alone Corso's terrible riff on the game.

Are uniforms going to get dirty and the field torn up in the final build?

I assume you missed all the posts in this thread talking about how the demo is an outdated build and the retail version is much improved?

Downloaded the Demo....

I'm not shocked a bit, it's like a barely tweaked 08 version

This game sucks again, please don't give EA your money again.

Another year that football sucks again

Ignore him, posters like that are just trying to get a rise out of people with senseless, half baked comments. As you can see, he's already been dealt with (red card).

Also during the cut scenes, sidelines could be animated more as the developers could choose to render only what is visible on screen and or create the cut scenes separately like other sports have done.
Gotta disagree about the 60 fps thing. At the end of the day, you're playing a game and 60 fps makes the game SOOOO much better.

We could only do so much on the cut scenes. We went with cheerleaders over sideline cut scenes because we felt they contributed to the college feel more than players. We didn't ignore the sidelines... we made sure to improve them a lot including new tech that allows us to populate them more. Maybe the bench doesn't react perfectly, but you cannot say it isn't 10 times better than 08.

game is miles ahead of 08. coaching decisions after timeouts is a nice touch. Passing game improved. HFA finally integrated. Better presentation. "College Atmosphere" during gameplay. sketchy breakaway runs at times (awkward mo cap) . Playcall screen bluffs. MASCOT GAMES!!! YES!!!.overall seems like a great improvement over 08.
