Good game biff. Those two picks toward the game was what sealed it. It was still a close intense game all the way up until the middle of the 4th. Good job. I got tore up by Jamal Lewis. He is a freakin machine. That guy is scary. You seemed to play 2 cb no matter what and it seemed like I couldn't take advantage of you run or pass until the 2nd half. Great job keeping the running game under control minus a few big plays. Good luck rest of the season.

Man, that was my best game this season. I finally had good balance on offense with AP going for 120-plus on the ground and Favre was 11-of-14 passing with a TD to Harvin that pretty much put the game away. Only blemish was an INT Favre threw in the end zone but that was more a great play by the CPU than a bad read.

It's a mixed blessing playing the CPU so often. On one hand I can get the games in whenever I choose but on the other, I don't get the user vs. user experience which is why I'm in this league.

Kasey, we've got a game coming up in a couple of weeks that'll be real interesting.

Re: ACQB M10 Franchise Game Discussion/Ish-Talking Thread

I think I have the most misleading stat line of the year so far. Louis Murphy was recently promoted from #5 to #3 on the WR depth chart, and here's his line for week 4: 2 Receptions, 144 Yards, 2 TDs. What's crazy about that line, other than the sheer numbers is that both of those pass plays could have been incompletions or worse.

The first TD was on a slot streak vs. an 8 man blitz that nearly put Russell out of commission as he was throwing. I've already been hit twice and picked by DL on those types of plays, but Russell put this one right where it needed to be and Murphy took it to the house.

The second TD came as I was anticipating another blitz and called a short out to Murphy. HOU had blanket coverage, and the CB made a diving swat at the ball, tipped it, but just barely so that Murphy could still catch it. The blitz left only one defender nearby and Heyward-Bey screened him off not once, not twice, but three times as Murphy weaved upfield, cut behind the block, and scampered to paydirt.

Those two plays were the story of the game, in which Andromada played well but got an overwhelming number of bad breaks. Russell played the game of his life, scrub WR had career days, and an inept front seven put heat on the QB all day. It was Twilight Zone-ish.

Big ups to Andromada, who made some diamond in the rough finds during the game that you all will need to watch, and whose team is capable of big things on offense once the team finds its groove. I'm glad I won't be facing him later in the season.

Last game had me feeling like this guy:

In all honesty, I did not think I called a bad game, or played badly.

This has been a staple of Madden Franchise mode forever.

It doesnt matter what team you use, your team will randomly just play like utter garbage for a handful of games during the season, no matter what you do, leaving you to pull your teeth to get through it. You can count on it.

Thomas Jones showed up, but that was it. My front seven took a vacation, my secondary dropped 3 sure INTs, My receivers wererunning as if they had cement in their cleats, and Leon Washington fumbled the ball with the score at 10-7..to close out the half. all I was trying to do was run out the clock.

I had the ball covered, and he fumbled anyway. Scooped up for a TD, to make it 17-7, and the game was essentially over at that point.

No highlights to post, as the gamefilm as promptly destroyed immediately afterwards

When do we advance again? I need to get the feeling of that clunker out of my system.

I plan on blitzing Chad Pennington and playing press man, on those stink wide outs..95% of the game.

Stinking dolphins....

In this league, the CPU games are just that.

Everybody who's played Madden for more than a week knows that there are a multitude of ways to exploit the CPU's deficiencies every time you break the huddle, it's just that most of us choose not to do so and prefer to have a clean game with the CPU that upholds the integrity of the league stats.

That's all I have to say on the matter, and I hope the league can move on to other topics of discussion.

We have a great group of guys here as well as great ownership, so I have no doubt this league will continue to succeed where others have failed.

Call me crazy, but I find myself calling more out of the box plays vs the cPu on both sides of the ball because I want to see how they handle it, and also give the CPU every opportunity to make a game out of it.

Youre right, if we all wanted to, we could march the ball up and down the field, by exploiting flats, and the cpu's tendency to tipping off when they are going to jail-break blitz.

Well, I advanced early this time and accidentally simmed a game between two users, so we're gonna wait till everybody's got their games in this time around .

I think if we can knock these games out by Saturday evening that'd be good. We're moving ahead of schedule right now, which is good, so you'll be able to wash the bad taste out soon enough.

Re: ACQB M10 Franchise Game Discussion/Ish-Talking Thread

I am having a real tough time running a 3-4 on this game, even with the loaded Cowboys defensive roster. It seems like I can't stop ish when it comes to the running game & the pass-rush does not seem to get there either thus leaving me in having to play bend-but-don't-break defense instead of being aggressive. Case in point, Ware has a whopping 1 sack in 4 games and that sack came during a simmed game that I didnt' even play.

Any tips? It could be that I haven't yet acclimated myself to playing user opponents or it could be that I'm still just not yet fully grasping Madden gameplay. Either way, I got some work to do.
