Imagine there's suddenly too many goals and the NHL decides to start changing the flexes on players' sticks to ensure scoring goes down... The pad sizing was changed a few years ago and save percentage has actually risen... While some fans may think the game needs more goals, I honestly love the way the game is now. Just my input, but then again it seems many fans are leaning towards the "more scoring" route.

Not trying to sound like an *** but do you actually enjoy the slow boring garbage NHL right now?

As a goalie, I appreciate the low scoring games more than the high ones for sure. I love the minute details of the game. I understand that most fans don't agree with me and I'm fine with that. Playoff hockey is the best hockey around to me because it's so defense oriented. Just my take on it, and nah I'm not offended I understand that everyone doesn't share the same opinion.

I'm not trying to be an ahole to you and I appreciate your opinion, but I've yet to meet a goalie that wanted small equipment and more goals.

When teams were scoring 400 goals in the 80's I never read one article in the newspaper or Hockey News complaining that there were too many goals.
But now, you're an offensive powerhouse if you scored more than 270 goals in a season.

I'd like to find entertaining aspects of the defensive side of the game, but even that's boring.
It's basically just slashing, blocked shots and chipping the puck out.

Everything about today's game is boring and stale. Probably the 2nd year in a row we don't get a 100 point scorer.
There are several teams that won't have a 60 point scorer. Some not even 50.
Why is that important? Because I'm not paying $100 to watch a game where the top player won't even get an even-strength point every other game.
'Back in my day', you KNEW that if you watched a Nordiques-Wings game, Yzerman was getting a couple of points and so was Sakic.
And that's not even talking about a guy like Lemieux would would put up 5 points a night on the regular, with most of them being an ESPN TOP 10 moment.

Hockey's so boring now, I'm watching basketball. BASKETBALL!!!

I play goalie too and watching hockey is brutal right now. The last Sabres I went to was just brutal to watch. The defense like money99 said isn't exciting either

I understand your opinion completely. I know that most hockey fans just want to see goals. I enjoy seeing the penalty killer lay his body out for a huge block. They sacrifice a lot for the guys on their team and to win. What happens if resizing the goalie equipment doesn't work though? Hell, what happens if your team's number one goalie goes down with an injury due to the equipment regulations? I'm just hoping they don't drastically start changing net sizes and such... I can see the argument for smaller goalie equipment but I'm hoping the NHL doesn't do anything too drastic... And basketball? Euh. I feel sorry for you.
