Shouldn't that not have counted because the puck disappeared from the ref's view? I dunno. Whatever it is, I'll take it.

Firstly, I think that there are some teams that regret not taking Kopitar in 2005. Even though he isn't top5 C in league, he is still around top10 and he'd be first line C in most teams, because he is also great two-way forward - check his Corsi stats for last few seasons.

Secondly, Bernier and also Reimer are only reason why Leafs are still in playoff position and why we got points in last 3 games. But I really hope that Bozak returns quickly, that will be huge improvement for our team(and man, I really don't like Bozak, he is best case 2nd line C).

Thirdly, I'm actually happy that Mike Smith scored such goal, he was doing a lot of crazy stuff in last few games, always trying to manipulate refs..

And lastly, Rangers are having great D, but must change their scoring lines, cause they are lacking spark in attack.

I'm sure teams regret not taking Zetterberg and Datsyuk and Miller too. But hey, you never know. The nice thing to remember is that specific player might not have had success on a different team.

Still grinds my gears that the Devils picked Jeff Frazee 34 picks before Quick got taken.

Re: The Official 2013-14 Regular Season Talk Thread

The reason I brought up Kopitar is because it wasn't hindsight. I was screaming at Vancouver to pick Kopitar at the time. Kopi was the top-ranked European headed into the draft, and the Canucks had been notorious for terrible C and picking "projects". When it was the Canucks' chance to pick (10th), Kopitar was the highest-ranked player on the board, and they took Luc Bourdon (RIP). The Kings drafted 11th and took Kopitar.

I only blame teams for making picks that seemed dumb at the time, not after. The Canucks selected Petr Nedved 2nd overall in 1990 (three spots in front of Jagr), but it seemed a defensible pick at the time. Their second 1st round pick in 1990 (18th overall) was Shawn Antoski, who made me a bit antsy because he fit the profile of a lot of Canucks picks in the 80s (big guys who may or may not be able to actually play hockey), but hey, what did I know? NOTE: The next player chosen after Antoski? Keith Tkachuk. The next player after him? Martin Brodeur.

Two things I can't believe:

1) Sergei Gonchar is still in the league. Feels like he has been playing forever. I mean he spent ten years in DC, and that was before the first lockout!

2) Sergei Gonchar is not 40 yet.

Not quite sure why I'm getting this COL/CHI game but good ole Patty Sharp having himself a game. Hat trick and it's a minute into the 2nd period.

He was one of those guys that I built up in one of my NHL 2kX franchises long after the Flyers actually traded/didn't resign him. Very happy for the success he's enjoyed in Chicago.

Hat trick on his birthday for Sharp, **** him. The Blackhawks are good, I hope they face Vancouver in the 1st round again.

And Stastny scores on his birthday, 5-1!!!!
