It's something I will never understand about international basketball.

Didn't expect the international game to fit Faried's style of play so well. He's looking like a manimal in this tournament. Very impressive.

Another game where I think I'm watching Rudy Gay make a steal and go the other way for a slam dunk... Turns out to be Davis again... The international game fits hims perfectly.

Speaking of Rudy Gay, the Kings really need to consider playing him at 4 alongside Cousins next year. I know the international game is more suited around stretch 4s but he can do it in the NBA as well.

Hopefully it was just minor and he'll be alright for Saturday's game.
Disagree. I thought Wall or Lillard should have made it over Rose knowing that Rose was already coming off of injury and if we get to the point where we need extended minutes from our backup PG, they're now going to be on Rose's knees.

Speaking of Rose, he's look horrible outside of a couple exhibition games. I'm mad at Coach K gassing us up talking about how Rose was back to an elite level. His jumper is nonexistent, his handles have looked sloppy, and he hasn't made good decisions with the ball. And his D has been, well, no better than it's ever been. 25% from the field, 1/10 from 3, 12 assists, 8 turnovers.

Didn't both Memphis and Toronto try to do that to no avail?

Re: World Cup of Basketball in Spain

Rudy Gay slid to PF occasionally with Memphis but it wasn't all that often. It was mostly earlier in his career when they had nothing else to rely on, he wasn't much different that Hakim Warrick playing PF for example. That and they desperately relied on his scoring at that point in time.

Also I don't know how to respond to the "no avail". He was a very good all around player in Memphis, at the time I think the bloated contract was actually justifiable.

It wasn't until Marc developed and they added Zebo that he began to look "bad" so to speak. Memphis decided to build their offense from the post out, thus putting Gay in too many spot up shooting and late clock situations.. We all know he isn't a good catch and shoot 3 point guy, so he was somewhat hindered and his efficiency took a hit.

Which all that made his trade justifiable. Idk how good or not he was in Toronto, or how often he slid to power forward, but he became a very good wing threat again once he landed with the Kings.

Not to really say I believe Gay should just move to power forward, but as a SF/PF he had lots of success in the past. He probably isn't going to be able to defend Davis, Aldridge, etc.. But against teams that use forwards closer to his size I think he would be fine, while providing a mismatch at the other end.

Re: World Cup of Basketball in Spain

Second round matches will get really interesting. Can't wait for USA v Spain though.

MVP so far for the USA is a toss up between Davis and Faried. On paper you'd easily say Davis but a closer look and Faried has a case with his impact plays on both ends.
