Post Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Bargaining Agreement Discussion

There will be no NBA season. Jordan and crew wants to vote against a 50-50 split and now players want to decertify. The NBA is gone for at least this season. To much internal conflict.

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Bargaining Agreement Discussion

The owners’ faction includes between 10 and 14 owners and is being led by Charlotte’s Michael Jordan, according to a person who has spoken with the owners.

if I was the players, every single one would call fisher and hunter and accept 52% or even Stern's supposed 51%

right. now.

why? Michael Jordan.. we all know that man's competitive drive is second to none, now he's on the other side of the fence

you really think he'll cave in to any players' demands right now?!

honestly?

honestly??

TAKE THE DAMN DEAL, 52% and get this season started and play some ball

so tired of the NBAPA heads not seeing that they're jeopardizing the entire season because of their dumb foolish pride

The chances of the NBAPA successfully decertifying are slim to none and it would be well into 2012 before a decision was even made (not even factoring in appeals).

Players are complaining on twitter and they havent even missed a check. U think they can go a year?
Scared? Naw. Wary? Definitely.

Your last sentence is the kicker, I doubt the players could even hold out anyway.

Jordan's crew is only 14 deep at most. He needs 16.

Ummm. What? 52 isn't on the table from the owners. Never has been to my knowledge. I don't forsee Stern getting them to budge from 50/50... stinks, but that's the way it is. When you hold the cards you don't have to move.

NBA source suggests Jordan isn't just leveraging against players, but big market owners, too: Want a deal? Give more in revenue sharing.
Interesting. And there is an owners meeting tomorrow as well.

Wonder if big markets give in more to appease the hawks, hawks authorize 51 percent...

Nahhh, reading too much into it.

Possible and Dolan and Cuban may be willing to do it.

I thought they weren't getting benefits once the lockout started.
