MORE than Good enough? I disagree. Good Enuff, fine.

Dude is good, but D'Antoni's system makes dudes look better than they are.

Re: The Carmelo Anthony (NY or Bust?) Thread

The Knicks are showing they actually have somebody with some brains running the team now. They was very smart in turning that deal done. Not only is Felton arguably the better player right now he makes half of what Billups does. There is no way I'm paying Billups 14 mil when I have Felton for 7 mil. If they would have taken that trade with Melo signing the extension they would have close to 60 million dollars tied up in Amare,Melo, and Billups for next year. They wouldn't have any money left to even fill out the roster. They would have to sign a bunch of guys for the league minimum.

Plus let's face it if a guy had to choose who to sign with for the VLM between Miami and NY they are taking Miami. A lineup of Billups, Fields(if not a part of the trade), Melo, Amare and some league minimum center and no bench to speak of what so ever doesn't sound anything close to a championship team to me.

Re: The Carmelo Anthony (NY or Bust?) Thread

Felton is more Fool's Gold than "All-Star" at this point. I hate to take anything away from him, but D'Anphony has a tendency to make PG's look good. Not saying Felton is a scrub by any means.. but let's not act as if Billups compared to Felton is a lopsided trade off.

As much as Billups has "fallen off" he'd still be going to a team with Melo AND Amare.

NY wouldn't be getting raped at all, they'd basically be giving up one starter and a first rounder in return for nothing... that's a nice going rate for an elite player like Melo.. Billups' contract isn't guaranteed next year...

Come on, that's a no brainer for NY. Let's not act crazy.

I wouldn't have made that deal if I was the Knicks, so good on them for showing brains for once.

No need to blow up the entire starting lineup essentially for a guy that's probably going to make his way to NY regardless.

I wouldn't argue with your last point though.. I've been saying that all year long.

Re: The Carmelo Anthony (NY or Bust?) Thread

BTW I'm going off of ehh's post where it was said that the Nuggets wanted Felton, Curry, a 1st, Gallo and Fields/Chandler. The deal Kash posted isn't too bad, I'm just unsure of the Billups/Felton swap.

Crazy I know, considering Billups is a Finals MVP and all of that and Felton is considered a placeholder for a bigger FA PG (which I don't see how that's possible if they get Melo), but I know Billups really wants to stay home in Denver and I'm not sure if it's a great idea to switch your starting PG mid-season.

Yeah, the deal ehh posted I wouldn't have took. Billups AND Melo I'd take easily. I can't argue with your point in the previous post either. More than likely he'll be in NY regardless. It's just a matter of which they think is more worthy. Give up a few pieces and acquire him now via trade. Or wait until free agency and risk him signing elsewhere.

I'd probably do the trade, but that's just because I'm impatient.

Re: The Carmelo Anthony (NY or Bust?) Thread

1. If I'm NY I don't do it, Melo isn't signing anywhere else
2. If NY does do it, it wouldn't be Denver raping NY
3. If NY does do it, they would have to re-tool heavily... on top of still searching for a big man/big men

Just stand pat NY
