I did mean winter Olympic event. I can't get into gymnastics either, but table tennis interests me to watch (it's fun to watch at that high of a level, to me) and I love the equestrian events (but that's what I get for growing up on a farm with horses and showing horses for a lot of my life).

Ping pong is a sport. Hence why it's in the Olympics. Just because the USA doesn't really consider it a sport doesn't mean others don't. Could say the same about cricket.

Well the US has found itself tied for 1st place in Medal Count. So that's nice.

From what I heard in an interview with Kurt Angle wrestling was eliminated because no one who was a representative of wrestling bothered to show up when it was being reviewed. Wrestling was eliminated for the 2016 games.

I agree though. I like the idea of archery, but the bows they get to use are ridiculous. They should have to use a Katniss bow...
Spoiler

Anyways, in relevant winter Olympic news the US also swept a podium for only the third time ever in the winter games. It was men's ski slopestyle I believe.

I'm not from USA and I don't consider it a sport either. And not just that, but look at the history of it at the summer games:
In the 7 years(and 88 medals given out) only 2 countries have won multiple golds(and 3 in total have won a single gold in general).

Really don't get how you have something like that in the olympics when it's basically just free medals handed out to China/South Korea each year

You could say the same with speed skating and the Dutch.

Canada and America pretty much like the same sports.

Sure, Netherlands always gets medals, but at least other countries are competitive in it too. 11 countries with 10+ medals, and 5 with 10+ golds. So at least we see diff countries getting stuff unlike table tennis where it's 90% China,8% South Korea and 2% everyone else.

The Dutch are just opposite of ping pong. In the Winter Olympics they have 82/86 medals are from speed skating.
