They also refuse to listen to the logical response of - "It's not that we're being hypocritical because there are bad areas of the US, but none of those cities have had 50+ billion dollars and 7 years to get ready for the Olympics and are still a gigantic **** hole."

It's amazing, man, it really is. Not having running water, walls in the bathroom, power, blah blah blah are not "little things." This is not a case of the Media blowing things out of proportion. It's just bad. If they couldn't be ready in 7 years, they should've never had the Olympics there.

That said. I hope the US kicks some ***. I hope I get to watch some curling and hockey. And I hope the hot woman of the Olympics World are prevalent.

Could we talk about the sports instead? Any of y'all watch the speed skating? It was pretty intense. I also really liked the luge final and ski jumping.

Re: 2014 Sochi Olympics

The luge is great but I don't think the coverage does it justice. Italian guy medals in 6 straight Olympics. 24 years worth of Luge Olympic Medals. Doesnt just compete in 6 straight. Medals!

I hate NBCs coverage too. If you watch throughout the day you see some things 20 times but if you don't watch it all there are some things you will miss. Their website has been crap too and I don't want too watch on my phone when I have my tvs and my computers right in front of me. DVRing and FFing through the repeats is working but here has to be a better way. Anyone seen any boards with discussions on that?

Oh, and what is up with Costas's eye? Is that a permanent thing I never noticed or has he picked up a special Sochi infection?

Watching speed skating. Every race I've watched so far (probably 8 races now) the one who starts on the outside wins. It's the 500, so they do two laps, and every single time the skater who gets the inside for the final lap has won.
