Odd Creature at my house-Any ideas?

So like 2 years ago, Im having a cook out and this green moth like creature appears and captivates everyone at my house. Everyone is like "WTF is that" its size is odd as its bigger than any bug around, and it has weird colors.

it has these things that look like eyes on its wings, very strange.

Cut to last night and the thing re appeared and was even bigger. I snapped pics of it to try and find out what the heck this thing is.

My guess is that its some type of odd moth that is rare, but needless to say, I have never seen anything like it. Maybe its more commonplace elsewhere.

man, that was quick, thanks bro. Even reading that, it seems out of place in Jersey, but the temp, and time of year are spot on so its not that unreasonable to think they would pop up every now and then.

LOL, not far from the truth. Part of the speed was because I thought the thing looked kinda cool. But of course I'd do the same as you if I saw it in my backyard.

So the male moths live long enough to have sex and then die, and can't even eat because they don't have mouths; which means they can't talk and further illustrates that women don't care about what we have to say.
