Has all the game breaking issues been resolved & is this game worth getting? As I'm considering it with that cheap price but don't want too if the bad stuff hasn't been fixed thx

Well, let me say this...

If you're not into playing online against random players, then there's not much for you in this game. It is a blast to play with friends (locally or over the internet), so if that's what you want, you'll love the game as it is.

They've added a cinematic story mode last month, with roughly 3:30 hours of play/cutscenes. Other than that, single player content right now is composed by a great training mode (really, it offers a lot of interesting options so you can train specific setups in specific situations), a frustrating survival mode, a short individual (per character) stoey mode (3 fights per character) and the challenge mode (trials).

We are still waiting for the daily challenges that were promised before the release, and currently there's no arcade mode.

The game does have some balancing issues that are quite obvious, but not everyone admits this.

If you really want a more complete and polished fighting game, with single player content, i would tell you to try Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator or The King of Fighters XIV (try the demo, it might surprise you).

I'm Ultra Bronze. I don't get to play too much. Been working on my comic. I'm almost done though, so I'll have time to train, but I'm very scrubby right now.

Re: Street Fighter V

I pulled off my best single-round comeback against an aggressive R Mika player last night:

The fifth (and final) hit of Balrog's vtrigger dash punch combo always seems to catch people by surprise. And if it hits, you can cancel it into his critical art for massive damage. I always try to vary the number of hits I input off that vtrigger dash punch early in the fight to set them up for that unexpected fifth hit later in the match. I still don't see a lot of Balrogs online, so people don't seem to be very familiar with how his moves work.

I play ultra defensive with Balrog and just try to counter punch against Ryus and Kens.

If they throw a fireball, I hit them with a turn punch into a sweep (turn punch goes through projectiles if timed correctly). If you have vtrigger active, his turn punch can also go right into his deadly vtrigger combo.

If they jump in, I counter with a crouching fierce punch into a dash punch.

If they try to dash in or walk in, I keep them at bay with medium/fierce normal attacks.

You can't be too aggressive against Ryus/Kens because their dragon punch is such a high priority move that it will crush most of Balrog's attacks.

Balrog's v-skill is his best tool to advance trough projectiles, and his light punch and stomp target combo (c.mk>c.mk) are really good to make pressure. Mixing up light punches up and down with throws are still great, especially with throws being harder to tech in this game.

I play as Ryu and i have a hard time against Balrog.

Re: Street Fighter V

The range on Balrog's vskill attacks is much shorter than the turn punch's, but the benefit of using the vskill is that you don't have to charge it up first by holding down two buttons, plus you can just go right into his LK MK HK target combo if the vskill kick connects and you're close enough to hit the LK. A lot of the time though you'll end up outside of LK range, so you can try to frame trap them into a crush counter instead with the HK (close range) or HP (long range).

A level 1 turn punch into sweep is 180 damage, while vskill kick into LK MK HK target combo is 158 damage.

The turn punch's frame disadvantage is also -2 on block compared to the vskill's -4 (punch) and -8 (kick) on block, depending on which attack button you press after doing the vskill dodge. The vskill punch can't be linked into the target combo, which is why it's much safer (but still pretty punishable) on block.

I don't like to use Balrog's crouch MK crouch MK target combo unless the first hit lands clean because the second hit has a -6 frame disadvantage on block, which is very punishable at close range.

Dragon Punch will out prioritize any medium and light attacks that Balrog throws out and will counter his fierce jump in attempts.

Balrog only has two moves that can hit a crouch blocker: vskill kick and jumping HK. So you can get away with crouch blocking a lot of his offense.

He's also free to attack on wakeup unless he has a critical art ready to use, because all of his other offensive wakeup options suck.

Don't throw fireballs unless the distance is full screen because that plays right into Balrog's dodging abilities.

Re: Street Fighter V

I've got to spend a little time in the lab with Juri soon. I have no idea what she's going to throw at me when I play her.
