What was so different between that and the one that wasn't release? What's the backstory to that?
The video I posted is what Resident Evil 4 was supposed to be before they scrapped the whole project and started over. As you can see its the same formula as RE1 and you're back in a mansion. Now RE4 is probably my favorite action/adventure game ever but now I sort of wish they stayed on track with the above posted video. Looked amazing.

Heres a quick trailer of the early version of RE4:

This is what they need to remake. A game that never came out.
Thanks for sharing this. I'd never seen the early version before.

In addition to the killer wind-up babies, I think it is the environments that make that demo great. Obviously the armored knights stayed in RE4, but the dining room reminded me of the one used in RE5 Lost in Nightmares.

RE6 just needs to elevate its creepiness to a similar level and recapture that sense of anticipation and desperation in the gameplay.

Re: Resident Evil 6

after playing dead space, you better be able to move and shoot in RE 6....otherwise it'd be unplayable.

Eh... I still prefer the route they ultimately took.

While I do feel "unplayable" is a stretch, I definitely agree that it's time for them to update their controls to be more in line with DS.

Literally, I will never forget that moment.

Walking down the hallway with the large glass windows on one side, seeing a crow flying around and being like "Wow, that's cool."

...and then the windows shatter and a flock comes in. I watched as they picked me apart because I was so ****ing freaked out.

I respectfully disagree. The "clunky" controls are a staple of the RE series and serve to create more suspense when shooting zombies. It's actually one of the few "survivor horror" traits that the series has retained from last gen consoles.

If Capcom does decide to allow simultaneous shooting and movement, which I doubt will happen, they would definitely have to increase the speed of the zombies too.

Maybe... but Dead Space has more than shown that you can maintain suspense without limiting the controls.

Sometimes companies hit a point where, at one time they were innovative, but now they are behind the curve... for Capcom, this is one of those times. Suspenseful or not, the controls just feel antiquated at this point.
