Re: Grand Theft Auto V

I definitely wouldn't mind Vice City or San Andreas. Personally I think it could go either way.

I think that the city it's set in will be more based on the time period they choose. If it's before 1990, I think any revisitation will be to Vice City. If not, I think it could be either.

However, I also wouldn't be surprised if they stepped it up a notch and included multiple locations among an area, like San Andreas. Which makes me think they could do a Texas like atmosphere. Get some Dallas, some border stuff, maybe include an Arizona like place, or even dip into Mexico a bit.

Either way, definitely should be interesting.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V

I'm not sure which game I liked better, San Andreas or Vice City. That's a good question. I think that while San Andreas had EVERYTHING, Vice City was just more awesome. Quite honestly, I feel like both of those games were more enjoyable than GTA IV.

Imagining a current gen GTA in a present day Vice City is making me salivate though. Imagine, the radio stations talking about "Leron Lanes" joining the "Vice City All-Stars" or something like that. Imagine all the lights and beaches. The clubs. Even possibly from going from living in a ****ty apartment to living in one of the mansions on the game's Star Island. I think it would be awesome if they added Key West and Fort Lauderdale. Hell even Cuba hahaha. All GTA needs IMO is a present day Vice City with way more character customization options, much more varied mission types, way more clubs/restaurants/places to freely explore, more houses and items to buy, much more expanded weaponry, ability to have relationships with people, and expanded interaction with NPCs.

I think im with you. I dont know which one I liked better out of san andreas and vice city but I think vice city would have more to offer with next gen consoles. just think of a city like mia and how good gta replicates cities. This could be one of the best games ever made with a better story then gta4. During the day vice city and san andreas has pretty much the same thing to offer but san andreas just dosent have the nightlife like vice city. But I think either city would make an awsome game on nex gen consoles as long as the story is deeper then it was in gta4. San andreas and vice city story made you want to keep playing it to see what would happen next. Liberty city story was good but I would keep playing it cause the things they would have you do and I just wanted to beat it, not because I wanted to see what would happen next.
Im not to big on character custimization though as far as changing the way they look. They way you could do it on san andreas is fine. I think if you were to be able to edit characters like you can do on saints row then that would take away from the story. What made cj such an enjoyable character to play with was his personality, etc. it just wouldnt be the same if cj was a white guy

Re: Grand Theft Auto V

Vice City was the better city and Story, San Andreas was the better game. A marriage between the two would be the prefect game.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V

I really hope they don't go back and "redo" a city. I don't see why they would redo San Andreas because it was so large anyway, plus with all the different businesses you could go in.

Seriously though, New Orleans is prime for a GTA location spoof.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V

Nothing will ever top San Andreas. That game was just insanely huge and it had everything imaginable!

The story and characters were rock solid as well.

You had LA, Vegas, San Fran, the country side, the desert, etc...

There were planes, jetpacks, parachutes, you name it.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V

I might be the only one who didn't like Vice City. Granted, I played them all on PC in the month prior to GTAIV's release. I loved San Andreas (and it was the first one I played), then GTA3 was still pretty great, but Vice City was a bit meh to me. Mind you, when I had an XBOX and was deathly jealous of PS2 gamers, I was certain Vice City would be the best. I'm an 80's guy.

Maybe I was burnt out by running through 3 & SA in such a short time period.
